Why is there a difference in the specs of the Raiders brim:

FAQ: Brim: Dimensional cut - front/back: 2 3/4" sides: 2 1/2"

http://www.indygear.com/igfedora.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;: Brim (front & back): 2 ¾ (2.75) inches Brim (sides): 2 5/8 (2.625) inches

Thanks for the input in advance!

I have Raiders at 2 7/8 x 2 5/8. Hard to know since the brim break is kinda sorta gone but just 1/8" larger than CS.

Thanks, but that does not help much ;) . I have several Raiders style fedoras, each with different brim dimensions. I would like to know, if there's a kind of "club spec" or "official" Raiders spec.

It would have to vary slightly with the size of the hat to keep everything in proportion. One thing I've learned over 40ish years of buying, owning and wearing hats is differences as small as 1/16" in height or width have a huge affect on appearance so a larger size hat like a 7-3/4 has to be bigger all around to look the same as the same hat in a 6-7/8.
And necessarily if you make the 6-7/8 hat with the same height crown as the 7-3/4 you'll end up with something that will make the wearer look like Abraham Lincoln.

Speaking of the original Raiders hat, Ford size 7 1/4.

Although I would defer to John or Steve that's my size (actually 22-11/16") and both of my ABs and all 3 Penmans measure 2-3/4" front and back and 2-5/8" on the sides. :TOH:
