I have viewed a lot of the posts and many people speak of making a pattern for a MK VII. Has anyone torn one apart and done this yet? I am thinking of making a leather MK VII and would love to have a pattern to go by.

I think someone on the forum has his pattern done and ready. (Even done making it?)
Can't remember who it was right now though, but I'm sure he will chime in.

I was just thinking about the same thing last night. I pencilled out a pattern for a similar bag (just something I made up, but similar to the Mark VII). If no one comes up with the regular pattern I'll scan mine in for reference. I should preface that by saying I haven't used the pattern yet so who knows if it will work. I was planning on getting a Mark VII bag and using it as a model.

Good luck,

Hey Folks,

I think someone had some guestimated plans finished, but I have diassembeld a completely unuseable W&G mk7 for patterns. The construction was simpler than i had thought. Now that I've got my 3 weeks of xmas break I'll actually be able to take the time to draw up some measurements.

Stay Tuned,
Paul

Hi Daniel!

There have been a lot of threads on the WPG bag. I'd recommend you to do a search and you'll se a lot of people are happy with it.

Indy bag

I just completed what I will call an "Indy Bag". I made it out of a heavy duty olive drab (waterproofed) canvas. I actually got the material from an apholstery shop. Anyways, I made a pattern just from pictures and measurements of MK-V's. The bag turned out remarkably well, and it is definitley "good enough" for me. It is missing some details, such as the drain holes (which are basically inobtanium), and the construction is much simpler than a real Mk-V.
If anyone wants to host some pictures I could try to borrow a camera and take some.
