Personal preference thing, and if you want to match the Raiders seaplane or CS train hat? Moonstone is lighter, basically cement gray, and the carbon gray is more of a charcoal shade. I prefer to try to match the Raiders hat, and it is its own lightning in a bottle, but I think the carbon gray matches it best, while moonstone with CS.

The moonstone does appear very similar in color to the Crystal Skull train-traveling fedora. I had a Carbon Gray Federation III years back, and while it's a nice color, IMHO it seemed quite a bit different than the Raiders China Clipper / Washington fedora. But if you are going for the Raiders gray hat, the Carbon Gray would be closer than the Moonstone Gray. Hope this helps!

Yeah, neither is a great match for the Raiders travel hat. Moonstone is close to the KOTCS train hat as Nebraska has pointed out.

I like the Carbon grey, myself:

Granite is the color for the Indy 4 travel hat. Which neither of those Are it. As for the raiders travel the Henry grey is the perfect match for it. My charcoal is a close 2nd.

My carbon grey is a very nice rich colour. at first I thought it would be too dark but no it was pretty perfect, the carbon grey meets all my grey needs.

But if you're trying to match an Indy movie..... moonstone is probably closer than the carbon.

I agree, John. The Henry gray makes a great Raiders hat. Wouldn't trade for it. It's too bad they discontinued these.

Heres mine I bought a few years back. It's a penman, CS travel hat.

This is the pic John uses on his site. And is the hat I have which makes it all the special.

The Henry is still availible from Adventubilt. I just don't carry them.

Indycroft, thanks for posting those shots. That is the exact felt and color used for the Indy4 travel hat. It's called granite.
