Help, I need a good whip holder for my excellent Jeremy McEachern 8' Raiders. I hear TODDS is good, but they have been out for quite a while. I'm not sure about the velcro job I see on eBay from jrzjoe, And apparently I will Never get the no-slip whip holder and strap
I paid $85 to Wade Egan for last October.
So I need to spring for another one and I would really appreciate
some advice and direction. If anyone knows, it's the COW folks
Thanks

Dusty (parttime here) from crease-n-corral makes no slip holders that work great.

This might be a stupid question but have you tried contacting Wade about a refund?
I'd highly suggest sticking with a reputable maker who has been around a long time. I'm also going to suggest Joe Strain. I've dealt with him multiple times and I always had a good experience. He's speedy and easy to contact.
Be sure to avoid the single wrap accurate whip holders. The whip will come out easily.

Thank you for your advice!
As for Wade, I have tried contacting him every month since November '12 when he said he was waiting for more materials to arrive. I requested an update at first and eventually I requested a refund. He has stopped responding at all. Pay Pal would not honor a refund because I had waited too long to request it (while being patient in response to his earlier reply). I have the lowest regard for this type of business person and human being.

Agreed, regardless of the maker you go with, opt for a double wrap model. SA whip holder do not work, even the velcro adjustable ones.

Thanks everybody I Really appreciate all your suggestions.
I decided to go with the
Joe Strain version I placed my order on line and got an immediate acknowledgement via email. The next day I got an email that the one I ordered (brown double-wrap, no slip) was out of stock but would be ready in a few days. Just now I got an email shipping notice that it is on it's way..along with a partial shipping refund for over-payment.
Now THAT is proper, professional service!

I probably should just end this thread because I am going to seem pretty dumb here...but, Oh well.
I got my Joe Strain whip holder today and I thought it was single wrap and didn't fit. I emailed Joe and got an immediate reply. He explained that his whip holders are all double wrap and said perhaps I would like to give him a call if I had any problem.
With that information, I tried it again and realized I had not wrapped it right, D'oh! It fits perfectly. The man is a PRO and I am very impressed with both his product and his customer care. I snapped a few with my phone for ya:
I now fully recomment Northern Whip Co.

Thanks Joe!

That's great to hear. Now you'll need to spoil yourself and buy a whip sometime.

I'm glad I came across this page. I purchased a 10 foot Raiders style whip from jmwhips.com back in January, and it just arrived yesterday and I couldn't be more excited!
Now I'm looking for another whip holder. I bought Todd's whip holder last year, and after hanging my whip on it I'm not impressed with it at all. The button doesn't seem to want to close properly, the Velcro won't stick to itself. Please don't think I'm bad mouthing Todd's stuff, because I'm not. He make great products and I will certainly continue doing business with him. It's just that his whip holders need a little help. lol
Now I'm either going to purchase the Joe Strain holder or the Crease-N-Corral one. Both look really nice, just don't know which one is better?!

Just to give you my two cents worth of knowledge I bought a double wrap holder from MakeItJones and I couldn't be happier. They responded to my email in a timely manner and shipped it out right away. Even with the UK £ to US $ conversion the price cant be beat. Here is their website if you are interested

Having both, here's my $.02. Ya can't go wrong with either because they both work great.
Cosmetically, the Strain holder uses a wider strap and allows the whip to hang lower. I favor CNC's shorter holder just because it holds the whip a little higher on the hip. FYI, CNC will also make your holder with nickel hardware by request.
