Indiana Dylan

Post by whiskyman »

Not sure whether I ever posted these before..
Sometime around '62 or '63 Bob Dylan was quite the bullwhip enthusiast. According to reports from the Newport Folk festival, he was to be seen wandering around and practising with a 10ft whip. If only he'd worn a hat!

Looks like he likes cigarettes too! Hahah

A whip seems so random for him. Like Betty White with a lightsaber.

It seems to be 8 plait cowhide one. I'm curious if it has swivel handle :-k

WoW! This may be the whip given to him from Joan Baez.

Hey thanks for the info! Never heard that story before and that it was a gift from Baez.

Here's another article I found concerning the bullwhip:

http://books.google.com/books?id=t4I1CQ ... ip&f=false" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Near the bottom of page 167. It says it's a 20 foot bullwhip, although from the pics it looks to be much shorter. It also mentions it was given to Bob Dylan from Geno Foreman, not Joan Baez.
