Pictorial of my Whips (and other stuff)

Recently did a simple pictorial with my whips and other stuff and thought I'd share it here.

Image

The light-colored whip is a paracord whip I made a few weeks back. It's a 7-footer. Didn't know how to make a turks head knot so I just sculpted some epoxy putty and made it the butt. At the end of the handle is a 25-cent Philippine Peso coin. It has 2 plaited bellies and a 12-strand overlay. Mediocre plaiting at best, maybe on my next whip I could perfect it.

I had some issues with bulky strand drops at first, but after a week I re-rolled the whip and really put pressure on it and all the bulky strand drops were gone! Didn't realize how important that step was for the overall look of the whip. The pic above is prior to me rolling (and waxing) the whip.

The other whip is made by Tomek9210. This whip has been pretty much abused as I usually just crack it on the street in front of our house. Still, it's going strong... A little bit on the heavy side; after 30minutes of cracking, my arm and shoulder hurt.

Thanks for reading! :whip:

Yeah, his whips are quite durable and crack easily. Very solid construction. I once accidentally stepped on the fall while cracking and when I brought up my hand to crack it again, the whip stopped and the thong hit me in the face. I literally saw stars! :whip:

Oh, just a side note... Our gate isn't rusty. That's just Photoshopped in for effect. Without the rust, the pic looks kinda bland.

Thanks guys! I'm flattered that you like my whips and appreciate my job. I may be starting new site in a couple of months and make some more whips :TOH:

Hey Tomek, I still use my purple stock whip everyday when I go to the bus stop to pick up my daughter. Rain or shine! Your 8 foot Indy I have gets lots of practice time on the roof and the brown target whip I use when im showing off :D
All have held up well and crack easily and deadly
Looking forward to the new site....thinking about making any heavy handled snakewhip? :-k

Fenris-great job on the photoshopping. Looks very real. I'd like to see a few more pics of thewhip you made. Looks very unique and cool....especially the butt. And what skin is that jacket? Looks really vintage, especially with the photoshop!

Great, that you are using them a lot. I don't have much time for whipcracking now. Recently I have received a new whip and I had only chance to crack it for 10 minutes.
No problem with heavier handles. Everything is possible.
Isn't that Todd's standard jacket?

Tomek's right. It's a Todd's standard. Distressed a bit and worn whenever possible.
