Well, I've not been one to post much in the whip section, I suppose because they are just sooo...
kinky.
Todd has become the vertual outfitter of IJ fandom. These whips look well made for the price. Does anyone have some knowledge of his current whip offerings?

As you said, for the price they're amazing! As for super sceal screen accurate real cracking whips , they're not the best. The price reflects that. You have to ask yourself what you'll be using it for. Primarily display? Go for it! If you're wanting a whip to crack on and learn whip cracking, you'd do best to go with a more expensive whip.

What a coincidence! I just posted a review over at The Raven...
I was finally able to inspect and crack a Todd's 6ft whip in person during one of our local whip meets here in the Philippines. It's owned by one of the members in my whip enthusiasts group.
Anyway, here are my thoughts:
The overall look is nice and really looks like a well-made whip... but that's about it. I found the whip to be too light and fragile for real cracking.
Even if the owner used the small tub of Pecards it came with, you could still hear the whip creaking when you try to crack it. I advised the owner to redo the process to get rid of the creaking.
The lightness of the whip, in terms of weight, makes it harder to crack. Because it's too light, you need to exert more "throw" to get a significant crack "volume" which in turn could probably break it in the long run.

The creaking is just new/dry leather. Dressing and time will take care of that.

I really Todd's whip. Mine's a 10 foot tan, exchanged for the mahogany I originally ordered. Looking forward to darkening it up as quickly and gently as I can.
It's lighter in weight compared to my DM of the same length, is very well constructed, and is very SA. I know it's crackable, but mine will strictly be a costume piece.

Out of curiosity what made you trade up? Im torn between tan and mahogany.

I exchanged it stricty due to aesthetics.
The mahogany looks okay in photos, but looks painted brown in person in my opinion. Saddle tan might've been ideal were it available. I decided my best option was to darken the natural tan one like the original trilogy whips.
