Todd's Costumes question

Hi all.

I was looking of the site and I noticed the S&W revolver for sale. I emailed Todd on whether it would be legal for me to import it. He simply said he wasn't sure if it could and they wouldn't be responsible for anything being impounded by UK customs, destroyed and any potential criminal charges. Before I do decide to import it, can anyone give me any info on whether it can be?

I did check the UK laws, but I really couldn't see anything substantial that'd help me. I'm not sure that even though it's a cap gun with a blaze orange tip, would it be considered a RIF?

Unfortunately I doubt you would be able to import it. For starters you would need a license and I would think it would be impossible to do without it being seized.

I would recommend going for a bb gun, modifying it and painting it up.

This is not the time to be mailing anything that remotely resembles a gun, anywhere.

Have you checked out the "battle orders uk." Site? They have replica & BB guns.there are restrictions on some models but many items can be ordered with out any problems.

They do have a webley on there, but it needs VCRA exemption to buy it. Sadly, I don't have it. Looks like I'll be going the BB gun route and using that.

Frontier models offer a great resin option.

Ive personally never had any issues importing replica guns in to the UK, if they paint the barrel orange it shouldnt get stopped. But obviously it is at your risk not the senders if it get seized.

Your actaully breaking the law by doing that also mate, and could land you in a heap of trouble. If they wanted to get real picky

Modification, as in removing the spring wouldn't be illegal, but painting it up would be, yeah.

I know it would be illegal painting it - but I doubt he is planning to walk about around town with it.
