This is strange. I have a Todds Med that fits great. I think it was '02 that I got it new. Recently I purchased a used Med. in perfect condition, only it was too tight. Next, I found a Lg. for sale, got that one and it fit perfect.
I was wondering how my Medium and new (used) large fit the same and my 2nd more recent med. is too tight...my measurements being the baseline for fit. So, I measured armpit to armpit on the original Med and the Lg. They are identical. Then I measured the length of the sleeves. Again identical. Finally the length from the collar seam on back to the bottom of the tail. Here there is 1/4" difference. The Med. is 1/4" longer. The minor differences may be due to being from different manufacture years.
BTW, I love the shirts, they are comfortable and reasonably priced and (when he ever gets more made) I plan to get at least 1 more...a Large! The only thing I don't like is the tail is too short, but I'm not the first one to comment on that, and after all these years, it doesn't seem like Todds plans to add another inch to the bottom. After all, that would increase cost and possibly drive up the price. (For the longer tail I go to What Price Glory Med/Long)
Has anybody else had issues with the size/fit of their Todds shirt? Do you think I just got a freak accident where I ordered a Med but got a Lg. with a Med. tag?

Re: TODDs Shirt size issue
I own a shirt from each batch over the last few years, two of which are xl and the last one in lg.The first shirt was an xl and fits fairly well although it is about an inch too short in the torso/body. The second shirt was an xl and it fit like a tent. It was just big all over and the last one is a lg. and it pretty much fits like the first xl except it is about 1-2 inches longer in the body. i don't know. Oh, and the fabric is different on each one. The first batch had the best feeling fabric in my opinion. If the color was right and 1 inch longer it would have been the only one i owned, but you know how it goes here.

OK, then it's not just me. Glad (in a sad kind of way) to hear it. sizing is inconsistent and I already knew he changes the material from time to time. I'm glad to get a 1st hand observation from someone with as much experience with this shirt as you have!jlhampton wrote:I own a shirt from each batch over the last few years, two of which are xl and the last one in lg.The first shirt was an xl and fits fairly well although it is about an inch too short in the torso/body. Yeah, he's supposed to have a new version out fairly soon with a revision on the color, mainly. I've been trying to hint here and there that a shirt with WPG's color and Todd's first fabric and details would be pretty much right on. It's hard to tell about the sizing, though. I dropped down in size to the lg.(last version) due to some weight loss and to my surprise found that it felt the same as my first version xl. and I didn't just loose a few lbs. I dropped like 30-40 lbs. so go figure. I can still deal with the size lg. now even if it's a little loose on me. Also, I've been experimenting with a redye on the latest shirt and even though the color can be removed to almost a perfect white the fabric absolutely will not take the dye without streaking in some way shape or form. I've tried this a few times and paid close attention to the mixing process and no matter what, there's color separation and streaks of color. It's just absolutely horrendous. So don't bother. This was a real let down after trying to remove the color from the previous offerings with no success. I thought there might have been a chance this time. Just waiting to see what comes our way next. I may even attempt the Azuma shirt just for grins. It seems everyone loves it.

Re: TODDs Shirt size issue
Thanks for the 411 on dying. As for Azuma, I can't seem to get hip to when they go on sale. I keep watching this site and missing it I even emailed them and got a very nice reply (earlier this summer) that they will be available soon. Meanwhile, I put a TODDs request on their email notification list. I hope that works out. But, realistically, I should ask myself, do I need another shirt? I have an AB, 2 TODDS, 2 WPG, & 2 Magnoli. I just like to wear them as a casual every day shirt.jlhampton wrote:Yeah, he's supposed to have a new version out fairly soon with a revision on the color, mainly.
