Ever get a new jacket that you did not like, initially, so you put it back in the closet for several months? Then one day, you rediscover it? ... :-k ....Hey, this is a nice jacket! Maybe not perfect, but alot nicer than I thought! Ever been there, or the reverse?

I actually experienced just that recently with my USWings Superlightweight lamb. I loved the skin but hate the lining. So i put it away and as i am slowly selliing off my jackets, i put it aside as it has that great skin and really nice small yoke. Im down to my last couple of jackets and so I decided to wear it to see if i should get rid of it and ended up thinking,"Its actually a pretty cool looking jacket.....cool enough to put up with the blousey lining and "ick" that came with it. So it has earned a place in my stable......one Wested for my display, my Kelso for everyday wear, my Wings for more formal occassions, and one Todd's Standard for.....well, just because it's a Todd's! ;)

I did that recently with my Wested Hero in dark brown goatskin. It was purchased just before the Hero project was formally, kicked off, and I pulled it out of the closet just the other day, and thought.... :-k ....this is a darn good jacket, why sell it..? Had I not added another 1 1/2" to its overall length, it would have been a near perfect fit. Soft leather, much more pliable than the double H's... :P

Post some pics, Hector, and I'll try to do the same? ;)

I actually just had the opposite. I took out my Todd's, which I wore all last fall and spring, and now it seems way too big. Now, I may have a lost a bit of weight, but it looked ridiculous on me this morning. It's tough because I love that jacket!

After I recently received my TN raiders I was comparing it to my other jackets. After I bought my Legend last year I stopped wearing my old, trusted Wested ROLA. Part of that might have been because I shrank it a bit in the wash and the sleeves were way too short. :anxious: While I was trying them on the Wested just felt like an old friend. It really has molded to fit me, so I decided to see if I could do something about the sleeves, and I am happy to say that I managed to stretch them back out enough that I can wear it again. It works out pretty well. I have the TN for my go to super screen reminiscent jacket that can be worn even in early fall and late spring due to its light weight, the Wings Legend is perfect for when the mercury drops and I need something heavier with enough room to put some extra layers on underneath it. Finally, I have the jacket that started it all, at least for me, my Wested ROLA in goatskin which is tough as nails and I can wear anywhere and not have to worry about it getting damaged.

I have just now, read this thread and yeah, I can relate here. I purchased a Wested (supposed to be 'TOD'), in pre-distressed cowhide in 2002. It really is a 'Raider's' with 'LC' pockets. Go figure. This pre-distressed version always seemed too light in colour to me, but then last year, I ordered a US Wings pre-distressed 'Indy' jacket for my grandson, to go along with a 'down-towner' hat, I had already purchased for him from Todd's! I decided we should take 'Indy' pictures together for Halloween, with our jackets (in this case, this Wested cowhide, because it looked closer to his), hats, and Todd's MKVII bags, et. all. It was then that I realized that with all the pecards I had put on my jacket, it had gotten darker and softer through the years and now, I wear it frequently and really love it! Glad, I never let it go and still miss some of the others, I did. This is a weird hobby (and, I won't even go into the money part of this), but it is fun, just the same! So -- yes, I now have and 'old' new friend! W>
