What do you think about this one?

Post by Xhiwar »

Hi there!
I've started my collection of the Indygear and am now looking for a revolver. But because I wouldn't want a real gun for my prop collection, I was looking for an airsoft replacement.
It is quite hard to find a good HE2 for the Raiders Style (I'm going that way with my gear), and I don't really like that gun, because I say to myself: "Indy is a great guy, he needs a great gun!" and I think the HE looks a bit... well... tiny (just my opinion, don't take it too serious  )
I've been searching for a 1917, but you won't find an exact airsoft replica, and also the Webley is hard to come by. The only alternative would be the Enfield Mk1 replica (blank firing), but I'd need to do some paperwork at the police station to import a blank gun (as I said, Swiss weapon law is some thing...).
So I found this one:

The S&W M19 Combat 6" from Tokyo Marui.

Looks quite good in my opinion. I also wanted it to look like in Emperors Tomb, the revolver there looks longer than any of the movie guns and it has some kind of "I'm-going-to-an-adventure-and-bring-my-gun"-touch as if you would really take it to an adventure.

I like the look of it, a bit long though, but as said: big guns for great guys!

Opinions?!

Oops, I forgot:

My only concern is:
Will it fit into the webley holster? (I think there are two possibilities to buy these holsters, and one of them is a bit larger).

Thanks

I think the problem you are going to have getting it into a Webley Holster is getting the flap around the grips. In my experience, the flap is a very tight fit around a gun much smaller than the one pictured.

The Marui S&W M19 Combat Magnum 4inch may be better suited. But, those are just my thoughts.

Pyro.

PS - Those guns look really good.

Nah... I don't like the 4" version, and also, the grips of the 4" are different. I'll rather buy this one.
OK, I checked this: The webley is 286mm (total length) and this gun here is 293mm. Do these 7mm REALLY matter? Don't you think I will bring that flap around the gun? I'm not even sure yet which holster I'm going to buy, I'm thinking of an IMA... but I heard the holsters there are tan, not dark brown...

Any suggestions?

Those are target grips. A pair like that came with my .22 lr revolver and I put smaller grips on it so it would fit in my holster. But, that's just my experience. I'll put my target grips on my Smith .22 and take some photos. I could be wrong.

The IMA holster would be your best bet. I would then get some leather stain to make it darker. It should look great. I am thinking about doing it with IMA holster.

the gun used in Emperor's tomb was a Webbley. So you should probably go for that. :junior: -IJ

You sure about that? It didn't look like a Webley to me, the barrel was too round. It even looked more like the 1917, but longer. And the icon when you switch to the gun doesn't look like a webley at all...

Yep, in the manual, Indy gets a memo from one of the museum's board of directors or someone saying that they won't replace another Webbley. I think the roundness was just bad graphics or the animators not really knowing exactly what his Webbley looked like. :junior: -IJ

Well, but these programmers did a great job anyway!
I'd really like to go with a Webley, but they're hard to come by here in Switzerland and, as said, I'd like to have a "close enough" Airsoft, I think I can spend my time better than sitting at the police station, filling out forms and not even being sure if I get the permission to import that blank firing Enfield... and I think that gun here looks cool. I'll probably buy the IMA holster first and then go to the airsoft retailer and try it out.
If it doesn't work, I'll have to find another gun or I'll think about that Enfield again :-k

That's what it looks like to me.

That's it!
Looks like the M19 6" is not a bad choice for an Indy(ish) gun. The front sight is no match actually, but all in all quite a good airsoft replica.

And I like the way he's trying to "pull the trigger" with his finger way behind it! :)
And the fingers of the other hand?!
