Hi
This is my first post so be gentle. I am looking to purchase my first fedora.
I have he wested raiders jacket so the next step is the fedora.
I wondered if anyone had one of the junior fedoras.
I may get caught in the rain in it so I don't want it to loose all it's shape
If I do get caught in a shower.
Thanks

If you do a search, I remember one thread on these hats. As I recall, a few of our European members had one or two and had positive things to say. Might want to look that up.

pdraycott,
Welcome aboard!
In the top right corner of the page is a Search button. Type Advintage into the search box and you'll get all the threads in which Advintage is mentioned. Read through them and you'll get all the information available on this site for their hats including reviews.
I did check their website and they are currently showing all hats are 'not available.' Not sure what that means?
However, if you're looking for a hat that'll stand up to the rain, check out Garrison Hatters. David Garrison is a member here (Local Land Surveyor). He uses the highest quality felt available in the US that'll hold up to the elements. I have two of his hats and the craftsmanship is outstanding. Likewise do a search for Garrison and you'll find many reviews.
Regards,
Indiana Jeff

Thanks to both of you. After searching lots of post on here, i have decided to buy the Akubra Federation IV. I live in the UK and wanted a hat that could handle being caught in the rain...we see more rain than sun.
Just need to wait for it to arrive and then worry about bashing it into the raiders look..bit worried about doing that..i'm not the best with my hands.

The Fed IV is a good choice. Don't worry too much about bashing. Check out several of the threads 'stickied' at the top of the Fedora section. There's lots of helpful tips in how to get the look you want.

Indiana Jeff

The Fed IV (particularly, Fed IV deluxe) is a wonderful hat. Let's see some pictures when you get it!
Welcome aboard!

thanks guys. When it arrives I'll post some pics of my hat and my wested jacket. Found this a very friendly community.
Next on my list are the gloves, belt and boots. Its hard to find things in the UK..so it gets costly, so I am going to get some cheaper items (except the boots arent cheap).

Make sure you don't let the hat get soaked through, though. Akubras have tough rabbit felt, but will shrink it if gets soaked through. You'll want to pop out the creases and let the hat dry upside down on its crown. This will help it keep its shape when it is drying.
