Hi Guys

I wondered whether any of you can give me some advice with regards to aging/distressing my whip.

I have Todds tan 10ft whip. It always shines bright orange on photos and wondered what methods are available to improve the look.

Time, sunlight and Pecard's. I know there are at least two threads where artificial (or "accelerated") distressing techniques are discussed. Results will vary, as you will see.

This is a goatskin Todd's before...



and after a light coat of Obenauf's (probably considered unorthodox, but smells great), plus Pecard's and sunlight.



This is a kangaroo Todd's before...



and after Pecard's and sunlight. (Not as dramatic a difference as the goatskin, but give it some time.)



You'll see the edges of the strands start to darken first, but eventually it evens out as the strands soak up the dressing. Just like distressing a jacket, start easy and don't try to do it all in one shot.
