I was hoping to get a matched pair of stockwhips done, but I was not able to get both of the whips out of the leather I had,
so I decided to finish up the first whip. Unfortunately I don't have the money to get another hide and finish up the second whip,
so I'll have to be selling this one on it's own
Anyway, here it is. It has a 12 plait 5 ft. thong, a 16 plait handle, 5x4 2 pass knots at the start of the knot and end of the
handle plaiting, 6x7 2 pass knot with a natural tan interweave ( everything else is saddle tan ). It has a handle totaling 19"
long. The handle keeper is replaceable and the thong has a double keeper. Here it is:

This whip is going up for sale if anyone is interested. I'll also be putting up a for sale thread, but it'll have pretty much the same
information
5 ft. saddletan stockwhip, half plait handle.

Great lookin' whip riku! You did an awesome job on your first roo stockwhip, your skills are really starting to shine! (And I'm not referring to the shellack!)

That is toheti cane , the difference between cane and bamboo is that bamboo has a hallow center, while cane does not. ThinMisa wrote:Whip is really wonderful. What kind of wood is used for handle ???
toheti cane is typically used for half plait handles like these, but for full plait handles when the handle starts really thick and
tapers, I use thick toheti cane with a spring steel lining in the core to reinforce the end that is thin. I have a few of those I'm
in progress of making right now.
Thanks you two!

Jeremy, the whip looks wonderful! Congratulations, my friend. The shape of the thong looks nice. And I love the half plait handle. Its proportions make it look so beautiful.
