I'm new to the boards but I've been looking at Indy Gear for about four years. I was wondering if anyone knows about the quality of this whip?

Doesn't westernstage props carry Keppler whips? I may just be confused.

The budget EC whip is an excellent choice. I have a regular EC 8ft 12 plait and I absolutley love it. Cracks easily, the braiding is straight and you can't beat Jim for customer service. He put up with my annoying questions and I got a fantastic whip for a great price. (no, I don't work for him or get commission )

The thing I'm worried about is the small looking diameter. It seems so small in the picture. Is it actually thicker than it looks?

I think I'll start saving for an EC Indy 9'. It seems like the best choice with a good price. I want a 10' but an 8' is easier to learn with, so I'll get the best of both worlds.

Anybody know the approximate wait timefor an Indy whip (12plait) from EC Whips?

My wait time about 8 weeks right now. I'm really backlogged at the moment(what else is new?!). I am considering adjusting my work schedule after the 1st of the year, where I would be cutting the hours down on my regular job so I can devote more time to making whips. With the amount of inquiries I have coming in every week and the number of orders I always have, it is just becoming impossible to do this and work a full time job during the day. I don't like having to always tell people it will be 8 weeks or 10 weeks until they get their whip. The new schedule will definitely help me turn the work around faster, and I will be adding some new goodies to the product line as well.

Here I go...just bought the lid and already on to the whip!

I'm trying to decide on length for a whip. I'm seriously considering the 12 plait EC whip, but I can't decide on 8,9,or 10 feet. Does anyone know how long the whip was in Raiders?

Speaking of the length, is the standard measurement of the whip from the handle to the end of the braid, or the ENTIRE whip?

According to the main IndyGear site, the whip length varied...depending on the need for certain scenes. I believe it also states that the most common length carried on screen was 10'. I'm personally leaning towards the 9' EC whip. Only question is color.

Length for bullwhips is entire length from end to end...as I understand the measurements.

Nope, you measure it from the handle to thew keeper(not including the fall) basically the entire braided section

Whoops! My bad...I forgot about the fall and popper. I was thinking entire braided length...but what I thought and what I typed were 2 different things. Guess you should never post when you should be sleeping.

I am sorry to say but,
this WSP:s Redhide whip is too soft and bad balanced!
Trust me, I have have one 8 footer of these.
If you are beginner and learning to crack a whip,
this redhide model is not good for you.
Save some money and buy a GOOD whip!
It will pay you back in long run.

P.S. And if you are looking whip that is Indiana Jones related,
Redhide is defenately not for you, it really is RED!

My advice: DON'T do it.
Pyroxene had an experience with them and I believe it took several months of hassle before it actually arrived on his doorstep. If price is an issue you might consider one of Lee Kepplers or an ECwhip Budget Indy.
