group buy?
I seem to remember a special at US wings some years ago, but now their prices are twice what wested is asking.
If anybody wants to put together a group jacket buy this month, I am in.

Re: group buy?
Wings offered the 'group price' due to the fact David Hack is a member of the site. There was no organized 'group' pricing. It was just done because David likes us and supported the site.
When the price of leather started going through the roof, he had to stop that offer.
Just an FYI why that was going on at the time.

Re: group buy?
I've found that when it comes to buying from US Wings, it pays to be patient.
It seems the next sale is always just around the corner.

Re: group buy?
Wested may be cheaper for the jacket....but go ahead and add that jacket to your 'cart' and enjoy the overseas shipping charge that calculates...

Re: group buy?
Wings' International shipping is just under $100 for a single jacket, US Domestic DHL $44. So it's swings and roundabouts.knibs7 wrote:True storyKokopelli wrote:Wested may be cheaper for the jacket....but go ahead and add that jacket to your 'cart' and enjoy the overseas shipping charge that calculates...

Shipping is getting expensive these days as anyone who mailed, well, anything recently will testify.

Re: group buy?
Yup....
I chose the wrong country to live in for Indy gear....
Japan is naturally further from nearly everywhere we get our gear from, so I'm always at the top of the shipping charges, and usually, while the initial product is cheap, shipping can put it way outside my "reach"...Wested hasn't been noticeably "bad" in that respect, and I'd pay the same for shipping on US Wings too...
Magnoli is cheap, but the products are expensive..So..Hard to balance...So far, the best has to be Todds...They're cheap and the products are as well...Plus they're fast...And I know I don't need to pay any "extra charges" upon delivery...Which does help...
But either way, shipping is a pain..

My god! $100 shipping for a jacketKt Templar wrote:knibs7 wrote:

Wested only charged me about $35 to ship my Hero jacket to the US.
Re: group buy?
When I got my Wested I had to pay shipping AND $150 custom fees.
Nothing I have ordered since from G&B has sustained any fees.

And last time I checked, US wings didn't offer any returns or exchanges to non-US customers. Wested does.Kt Templar wrote:Wings' International shipping is just under $100 for a single jacket, US Domestic DHL $44.
