Indy's blue turtleneck

in the story "indiana jones and the iron phoenix", at one pont, Indy is wearing a blue turtleneck (not his regular MOTB cardigan
![Razz :P](./images/smilies/Indy%20-%20Tongue.gif)
)
so, my question is: anyone here got a navy blue turtle neck or anything else of clothing from Indy's other adventures than just the films?

CJ

I remember Rob MacGregor has him wearing a flannel shirt in one of the novels. Nothing wrong with a bit of plaid now and again:
Right, Michaelson?

Hmm, now I'll have to consider getting a turtleneck or two. One blue like Indy's, and one off-white like Simon Templar's...

I too am looking for a blue turtleneck to go with my brown sportsjacket a la Bullit. Seen plenty for girls, but guys' ones are hard to find over here.

Looks like a sailor's turtleneck sweater to me, rather than just a turtleneck.
You can find those at military surplus stores....or at least you USED to be able to find them there.
Regards! Michaelson

Agreed. that does indeed look like a sailor's turtle neck to me. And you still get 'em at surplus stores from time to time. At least that's were I got mine from. One could also look for one of those R.A.F. sweaters. Rather similar (although - obviously - in a different colour).

You can buy one and look like both Indy and Steve McQueen

I agree. Brings the look of the fedora, khaki trousers (yes, I know the ones in the film are NOT actually khaki khaki), and leather jacket with the plaid back to the days of outdoorsmen of the 30's. Even Eddie Bauer capitalizes off bringing back this particular look so it can't be all wrong.

Good try, Mitch... but you forgot to leave your satchel laying on the ground behind you in the second shot.

Looks great! Personally I love wearing my jacket and hat over whatever i happen to be wearing. It generally looks good, but a good woolly jumper really seems to work!

Indy Magnoli:
I thought about that, actually... but when I saw how wet and mushy the ground here has gotten after 2 full days of rain, I chose to focus instead on the detail of how that cartoon satchel appears to have only ONE strap (and
centered, at that! )... and, having no matching satchel, I chose to not include this element in my shot
(It's amazing the things we'll focus our attention on - and TELL ourselves - in order to make excuses for oversights, isn't it?)

Thanks, CJ!
They were odd poses to try an replicate, that's for sure (especially that second one: with my legs are facing one way and my "torso & up" is going
another way AND especially the
position my hands are in when they're on my waist...
![Rolling Eyes ](./images/smilies/Indy-rolleyes.gif)
...well, let's just say that trying to capture to look of the
drawing sure doesn't mean it will feel natural OR comfortable!)
Glad you like these, though... they sure were an odd little adventure to try and duplicate
(Oh, and nobody mentioned it, but I'm gonna "pat
myself on the back" for getting my hands on a pair of boots that seemed to match the comic book art so well: they're completely without any real distinguishing details -kinda' like the drawing- AND they have a sorta' blue/grey color-scheme going on... I'm not sure if anyone really noticed 'em... but I was glad to be able to throw them into the shot!)

We
LL
L... y'see, that's where things take a turn for the ridiculous...
(In other words, you might be sorry you asked):
I had nothing in the way of a "different" looking boot (meaning, NOT an Aldens) that I could wear for the photos that wasn't either a jogging sneaker, a hiking sneaker, an old black workboot or a snowboot...
I'd resigned myself to the Idea that I'd just wear the black workboot when I happened to notice my Father-In-Law had an old pair of blue/grey slip-on boots (with the zip on the inside of the ankle of the boot) that seemed to do the job nicely. They're clearly a few decades old (although really well taken care of) but I can't find any name or brand label anywhere on them.
I also never knew until that moment that my Father-In-Law and I have pretty much the same shoe size! Once I realized they'd fit, I asked him if I could borrow 'em for 10 minutes or so.
But yeah, I wasn't realy looking for them... it was just
pure LUCK that I happened to "stumble" across them.
The pants are nothing overly special... just a pair of cotton khakis I found in a Thrift Store. Label says
"George's", I think.
Thanks for asking!

You are something else. You have the incredible ability to pull 'stuff out of the air' and make it work perfectly! Seriously, the shots look like a ton of planning was put into them. I'm impressed. Like we used to say when I worked in television -- sometimes the magic works and other times, it works even better! W>

Well, I think it's ridiculous for us to think that he wears the same thing everywhere he goes. It's practically impossible. Having indy wear different stuff or variations is a good thing with the novels, etc.
Even the Mummy movies, Rick O'connell is wearing variations and in the third movie a completely different set of clothes.
Love those Rob MacGregor novels....the best set of Indy novels to date!!
