Old Cooper/Disney/ Fan Club jacket
I can't remember if this was the Disney Cooper or Fan Club jacket, but I got it for Christmas. I'd been wanting one ever since they discontinued them.
I absolutely LOVE the jacket, but it's a little baggy on me bc I lost weight and the arms are kinda big, like one of the Hero jackets in LC.
Is there any way I can somehow shrink the jacket and get the arms re-done?
\
Thanks!
Kyle

Re: Old Cooper/Disney/ Fan Club jacket
Well, you could douse the sleeves in warm water and then scrunch them until they get that super wrinkled effect. In others words let the sleeves dry while pushed up. That should take care of the length issues. Heck, I personally would use cold water because I like my sleeves a bit long. Either way, the scrunch and the resulting wrinkles should eat up some of the length. The body, on the other hand, looks fine on you. I like the drape and things can get complicated real fast if you start shrinking the body of the jacket. I speak from experience.
Good luck! Jacket looks great! Love the weathering.

Looks exactly like the CS jacket only with reversed straps

Does it have the famous double stitched shoulders?
Would make things interesting.....

Interesting indeed... I didn't know that detail was floating out there so long ago... Hmmm...Kt Templar wrote:Does it have the famous double stitched shoulders?

Oh do tell... The archive jacket has double stitching so where are we heading with this?
Re: Old Cooper/Disney/ Fan Club jacket
That it is based on the same custom manufactured jacket Lee Keppler ordered from Flightsuits using specs based on what he saw in Raiders (plus the storm flap snaps), which Lucasfilm then purchased through Lee's ad and placed in its archives, which was then sent to Peter to turn into the LC jacket and thereafter sent to Tony as the prototype for his CS jacket? That's what they're getting at.

Re: Old Cooper/Disney/ Fan Club jacket
my 1994 purchased Disney World Cooper jacket had the double shoulder stitching...also had the 'hidden' storm flap snaps.
Re: Old Cooper/Disney/ Fan Club jacket
You need to slow down. You mean that the Disney jacket was copied from the Keppler archive jacket? I thought there had been a hint that the archive jacket may have been a Cooper and perhaps one of these here?St. Dumas wrote:That it is based on the same custom manufactured jacket Lee Keppler ordered from Flightsuits using specs based on what he saw in Raiders (plus the storm flap snaps), which Lucasfilm then purchased through Lee's ad and placed in its archives, which was then sent to Peter to turn into the LC jacket and thereafter sent to Tony as the prototype for his CS jacket? That's kinda what I'm thinkin'. But I'm sure there are some on this board who would know...CM wrote:You need to slow down. You mean that the Disney jacket was copied from the Keppler archive jacket? Yes, thanks. I seem to recall Michaelson saying some years(?) ago that there were a few views on what the origin of the archive jacket actually was. There is a photo of the archive jacket that does indeed look like a Cooper, but looks are speculative and can lead you into dark corners around here.
Re: Old Cooper/Disney/ Fan Club jacket
Here's part of what Michaelson wrote about the archive jacket in an old thread:
That story of it being a Cooper has been around for quite a while, so yes, I've posted it many times. The Keppler connection was only made within the past couple years.

It's in an old thread about the "Archive Jacket Being the Basis for the LC and CS jacket". May 2010. Sorry to rake over old ground.
