where would one find a square or rectangle glass or acrylic case with or without a wooden base that would fit best to show off an indiana jones hat and to keep it nice and safe from pesky moths

Just an idea that I have seen used before: go to a pet store and get a fish tank (or find a used one online) flip it upside down and there you go.

Depending on the tank though the edges might interfere with the display part. Some tanks are glued/siliconed together while the larger black plastic pieces on the edges are just for reinforcement. For a display cases you might be able to remove them and then have a totally clear case.

There may be a more legitimate source for this type of case but for 15-30 bucks or less used you can't go too far wrong.

Cheers
Craig

A little expensive, but check this one out. The inside dimensions would fit a fedora just nicely with room to spare. I'm thinking of getting one myself for my AB CS

Me personally, I would only go with glass, as acrylic scratches. Also notice that this company offers a name plate to go with it.....perfect for your Indy details (made by, which movie, etc...)

You might want to give this a read:

I'm not sure if Ohio still makes these stands, but trust me, the one he made me really is a show-stealing work of art!

You'd have to ask Ohio about that, but I can't wait to see your end result! :)

P.s, for what it's worth, I think acrylic cases should work fine if they're in low traffic areas. My display looks the same 3 years on, but granted it's almost never touched, save for the occasional dusting. It's not that I'm disagreeing about the disadvantages of acrylic, but if you intend to use it as little as I have, it might work.
