Help me fix bleached spots on my Aldens

Hi,

I've got a pair of 5+ year old Aldens that are in great shape except for a couple of bleached out spots that are the result of something that dripped on them during my train commute a few years ago. I treat them with Pecard's brown weatherproof dressing twice a year and the rest of the leather looks great except for these couple of bleached spots.

Anyone have a recommendation for something else I can try?

Keep in mind, Pecards brown weather proofing is not a dye or polish. It just helps add water resistance with a brown overtone.

I'd suggest you try Meletonian Shoe Creme and start rubbing that into the spots on regular basis.

'Brick' used to be the recommended (and supplied) color by Aldens for the 405 boot.

Exactly what _ said. Trying to match a spot is near impossible, this is true with all kind of situation such as furniture stain repair, auto paint repair, etc. You should try to make the entire surface a consistent color and then proceed with the dyeing.

Thanks for the input guys. I was hoping for some magical cure, but what you're saying makes sense. The spots aren't so noticeable that its worth having one or both shoes re-colored. Maybe in a few years when they need more extensive work.

I still recommend trying Meletonian shoe creame as suggested by Aldens themselves, but suit yourself. :TOH:
