Firstly I know its not an Indy jacket so apologies for you purists but hopefully some people will still appreciate this post as its certainly a very 'of the style / of the period' type jacket.
I was always drawn to the look of the leather B-15 on the US Wings website. It had that look of the aviator jacket, it had that spirit of adventure and somehow it just appealed to me.
I think over the years I have gradually begun moving away from the Indy jacket - I have a beautiful expedition but truth be told I hardly wear it any more. Its a good fit on me, its wonderfully made and I cant fault but I think, perhaps, part of me accepts that maybe there are other jackets out there that suit me better than an Indy jacket. Especially for me a jacket with the elasticated waist and sleeves seems to look better on me.
Anyway I eventually went ahead and ordered from the US wings site, a scary experience for me as I worried whether the sizing would be right. But it arrived and instantly I it was a perfect fit! And I couldnt have been happier.
I have delayed this thread until I had some decent photos of the jacket so enough of me rambling - here are some pics and maybe you can see why I like it - works with the Indy fedora I think, but also looks good with a pair of aviator sunglasses!

That's a nice lookin jacket, Ken. I really like the shearling collar, which will definitely beat an Indy jacket when the mercury drops. What is the pocket for on the left sleeve? It almost looks like you have a couple of pens in there. That is some beautiful scenery in the background of the last photo. Where was it taken?

SJ

Yes it is indeed a pen pocket but it also has a zip so you could fit other stuff as well.
The last photo is from the top of the hill overlooking Cusco city in Peru

Nice! Is the zippered pocket big enough for a folded map?
Peru? Are you living down there now? It's been awhile, but the last I knew you were in China.

Its a small pocket so you would have to fold the map quite a few times I'm afraid.
No I was just in Peru on an expedition but I am based back in my home country of the UK.
Where are you these days?

That is a GREAT looking jacket and it suits the Indy image to a T. I bet Dr. Jones was wishing for this exact same jacket while trudging through the snow in Nepal
Congrats, You wear it well!

Ken,
Expedition to Peru, huh? Now that sounds very Indyesque. What kind of expedition were you on?
I'm back home in the states, in Kentucky for the moment.

SJ

This is cool. I had never really paid that much attention to the B-15 style before, however looking at you in your pic's with it -- that is one fine jacket and looks great with the hat, surroundings, etc. Good choice! Quite impressive! W>

You can check out this thread for info on the expedition (the trip not the jacket):

Thanks everyone for the compliments. I really do love the jacket - I also like the fact the collar is removable with a regular leather collar underneath too for versatility. I really would recommend this jacket to people.

That's a great looking jacket Ken. You're right, there are other jackets, particularly classic military jackets that are perfect for adventurers and may suit some better than an Indy jacket. I feel most at home in and Indy jacket, but I find myself grabbing the A-2 more and more these days.

Ken: I have a question for you. After looking at your pictures, I clicked onto Wings to read their info on the jacket. What caught my eye is that the collar on the site looks dark brown where your's appears to be lighter in tone. I don't see any other offerings for this jacket in leather...so am I to assume that they are one and the same. Just curious. Thanks. W>

Actually mine was the very last one in a discontinued color scheme. Personally I prefer the color scheme I have although the darker brown is nice too

Ok...thanks, that explains it. Good to know I am not going totally color blind. I really like yours. To me it offsets the jacket better then the darker brown collar. Thanks again. W>

Yeah the color scheme on your jacket is much more appealing.
