Well, I don't know the exact weight on the original handles, but they are very light, it's basically a pvc tube with half of it plaited on, so hopefully that gives you a better idea- When I get a chance to weigh one, I'll get an exact weight for you-

the weight on one of the Aluminum Handles is-
348 grams/12.28 oz

it's definitely a big difference!
To me- I like light & heavy handles, each one has it advantages-

Yup, my pop is working on the next test set of handles right now-He said The weight will be somewhere inbetween, they will be lighter than the first aluminum handles & heavier than the Midwestwhips PVC handles, so that will give me three different weights to play with to see which one I like the best! - Gotta love my POPs!
