Looks good to me, nice jacket. If I had to not pick id say the pockets look too talk, not far enough from the hem, SF doesn't look wide enough, the collar looks good. Other than that I like it. Is this a jacket from a new vendor or a one off?

The maker of this jacket is from England. They have advertised on Ebay before, and I have sent them a few inquiring emails to find out more about their 'Indy' jacket. They reproduce film jackets. This jacket is cowhide. Double stitched, close enough. Collar isn't that bad, but not true to the film jacket. If you will notice, the LC film jacket's storm flap looks wider because of the distressing, as they outlined both sides of the storm flap, ie discoloration with acetone, or some other such solution. Pocket size and position looks more like Raiders than LC, and are anchored too far down to the hem. Flaps are a bit too narrow. A true LC reproduction does not have a stitched hem around the bottom torso. Straps are anchored a bit too high in relation to the pockets. All in all, it is reminiscent of the late 80's early 90's model jackets that were produced just after LC. No idea what the back looks like, but chances are you will find the low yoke. As I've mentioned before, if a retailer is going for the LC look, there are certain defineable features that seperate it from a Raiders jacket, for instance. Subtle, but distinctive. Collar, size and shape of the pockets, snaps on the storm flap, just for starters. You have to weigh what you want vs. cost. Not an expensive jacket, but attention to detail matters, if you want a jacket that is a faithful copy, jmo.
Also, until about 2003 or so, Wested/LC used n****e snaps, which were also found on the film jacket. The LC film jacket did not have inside leather facings, and it appears as though the liner was nylon, or a similiar type material.

So, they're made in England?
I doubt it. Probably a similar setup to Magnoli; UK (or NZ) front, but goods made in India, China or Pakistan on the cheap.
Nothing wrong with that mind you, they sometimes make some pretty good stuff.
Better to stick with the better known vendors though, in my opinion. These 'film jacket' reproducers rarely maintain positive Ebay
feedback for long, and any problems mean sending a jacket back to Lord knows where for who knows how long....

If you want a true LC jacket, study this link (half way down). You will find a fraud and an authentic jacket in the same thread:
http://filmjackets.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Notice A-5's post. You can clearly see that the discoloration of the leather around the storm flap, and this had led members to believe that the storm flap is wider than it was, which is a popular misconception. Notice the size and shape of the pockets. Notice the position of the straps...near the bottom of the pocket.

Huh. I'd never noticed; why would the 'Kurtz' jacket need a collar hanger thingy (whatever they're called!)?
Surely they wouldn't ever hang a production jacket used in the film off one of those?

Notice too the after market snap on the upper storm flap/collar. There are a number of things that would have tipped off the auction house, had they known what to look for, the least of which is the crappy distressing. Looks like they hurredly used a wire brush in the back room, as others have mentioned.

A wire brush though?
You try distressing a jacket with a wire brush and getting that effect. You'd destroy every stitch.
Looks a little more 'advanced' to me than just a wire brush. Or even sandpaper for that matter. The stitching looks pretty intact.
Acteone to remove the colour perhaps?
Probably the wrong thread to be discussing this!

I was referring to the back panel and the yoke. Just doesn't look natural.

Looks pretty over-the-top in these still, close up pics, sure; but on the movie screen, who would notice?
It would have to be pretty extreme to look 'beat up' in motion on the big screen.
And how does rest of the distressing come about? As in, around every other line of the jacket?
The colour is just..gone.
Again, probably not the thread to be discussing this, but it is interesting!
On topic, yep, nice replica.

Found the auction. Fortunately there were pics of the back. Looks like there are no action pleats and the sleeves are not of a 2 piece construction.
The ad states the following:
"Indiana Jones Brown Real Hide Leather Men's Jacket

It is made from genuine real cow hide leather. It has 2 outer pocket and 1 inside pocket. Real leather ages gracefully and lasts a lifetime when looked after. They have their own unique character. All of our jackets are stocked in the United Kingdom. We have a return and refund policy. Buy with peace of mind."

I think it looks pretty poor and to me from the styling looks to be a Pakistani or Indian job.
It does not look like the LC jacket.
