NH Buckle

Guys, I know this will be heresy to most of you, but hear me out on this. I was watching Raiders last night, and from the all too brief glimpses of the strap I got during the Cairo fight scene, the buckle looks identical to the Noel Howard buckle. It looked just as flat, just as wide, etc. If anyone has any screen shots of the buckle from the Cairo fight scene, I'd love to see them. :junior: -IJ

I disagree. I still think the NH buckle is too wide... it would look much bigger than the one used on film. A great shot is during the flying wing scene right after indy gets punched in the gut by the german mechanic.
If you head on down to my thread titled the bag strap buckle, I think I might be on to something. Check it out.

Yep, that buckle is pretty much the same size as the NH one. Maybe the NH is just a LITTLE bigger, but not enough to be worth getting up tight about. :junior: -IJ

Actually, I found another frame (now, who's being picky?
) where the buckle looks thicker than the NH buckle, and a bit more curved. Check it out:

Yup. It switches back and forth during the fight. There's another shot where the strap is completely inside out, and you can see the rivet.
Fun having the DVD's. I'm noticing a lot more now.

The best place I found (this is from watching on vhs no less) to get good shots of the buckle are during the flying wing fight scene.
When they are fighting under and around the plane you get a couple of really good cu shots ofthe buckle.

Found this shot. Much flatter, but still not as wide. The debate continues...

Very enlightening. So the Raiders bag strap buckle was thinner than the MBA buckle, and flatter than the Keppler buckle.

Shoot, and I thought the WPG buckle was the most screen accurate.

Does there look like something is bulging out of his right pocket in those top two Cairo fight shots? Maybe THAT's where his other pistol is!
Kind regards,
Indy

It might be a bunch of dates he put in there. Or something that wasn't really used in the movies, like toiletpaper for the little problem Harrisons had at the time.
