More pants options...anyone tried costumebase's new ones?

Pretty much says it all right there, doesn't it? I just noticed the old standby inexpensive-though-not-terrifically-accurate Costumebase now offers a pair of Indy pants. Anyone have a pair? Price is nice, while the elasticized waist is obviousyl not that great looking, but hard to tell what the rest of the pants are actually like from promo pics (or from the description, slightly non-sensical, and cribbed from Indygear's shirt page!). Anyone?

I don't think anyone here has tried them. Costumebase leaves a bad taste in many peoples mouths on many forums. Usually if anyone does get their stuff they try not to mention it. I've never bought from them, but the pants did make me check them out. It is tempting, but seeing the elastic waist, the incorrect number of belt loops, and the pocket flaps plus the non military hem has made me question pulling the trigger.

Yeah I haven't tried the pants but the MKV II I have bought from him. It's ok if your not a SA nazi. I'm sure the pants are better than those cheap Halloween ones! But yes try Wested, Magnoils, Todds did I forget someone? Anyways, might be great for someone looking for a inexpensive Halloween costume. We love all vendors!!!

Yeah, pretty much the opinions I was running through my head, but thought...you never know; part wool, colour seems okay, possibly closer than some of the close-enoughs from Lands' End, etc at half the cost, maybe there's a close-enough gem there...also they're doing what looks like a not terrible Deckard shirt and tie, my first Indy shirt was theirs, and actually still holds a place on my rack for regular rotation, also actually my MkVII (though not the crappy strap) is one of theirs and has miraculously held up for a couple of years on regular (every other day or so) adventures into the rainforest over that time (though I suspect that's not the norm for their bags). Looks like they've also updated their Ra headpiece to have proper text on each side (as opposed to duplicating text on each side as they used to)....thought they might be trying to make a play into some better built clothing. Anyhoo, always interested in what owners might have to say vendors doin specifically Indy gear.
You know what, after going back to look again, forget I said anything at all. The colour still looks reasonable, I can't tell from just a front view if they have a military hem or not, but order long and you can always fix that; belt loops? Eh, not a big deal. No, what I simply cannot get past, what I thought might not be an issue on first glance, is the elastic. They just remind me of some cruddy rugby pants I had in grade school and ruin any pretense of being a classic style. BIZARRE choice they made there and definetly a deal-breaker.

Hmm... It seems I haven't been keeping up with the vendors. I only recently learned that WPG has long sizes, and now I see the long awaited Todd's pants are available. I just wish you didn't have to be fat to be tall. 36x34 is the best it gets? What about 34x36? I find it hard to believe there are so few people my size. I seem to run into them all the time.

Mark Brody,
I would measure your waist and measure the inseam in your pants.
I wear 30x33 or 30x34 in regular pants, but after measuring, I realized that 32x32 was pretty much perfect in Todd's pants.
Regular manufacturers seem to be lying to us about both waist size and inseam.
Todd may have some that fit you.

Hmm, thanks for pointing that out. I may have to try a pair after all.

Yeah, if you check out the thread for Todd's new pants they actually had an issue with the labelled sizes and had to measure each pair by hand to figure out what they were. What came up is that mass-producers tend to subtract around 2" from the labelled size to make us all feel better about ourselves. Todd's are actual measuremet at the waist, not an idealized number.
