Does anyone have any leads to a nice cotton white field shirt? I was going to order one from Eddie Bauer but they are out of my size (XXL) and they are made "fitted", which is uncomfortable for me.

I've searched online and found quite a bit, but they all seem to be made for Abercrombie and Fitch models.

I don't know about white, but Cabelas makes some mighty good field shirts of different designs, cotton or polyester.

Duluth Trading might be worth a try.

How about Goodwill? I've come across numerous LL Bean field shirts in the past for just a few bucks. If you want a real budget shirt, go thrift shopping!

I've got a LL Bean Field Shirt and a Todds. Just wanting a white one. I know Magnoli makes the Indy shirt in white, but I can't afford 109 bucks at the moment.

I do get hits online, but like I said, it seems the ones in white are designed and cut for skinny dudes. Will try Duluth Trading. Thanks!

Are those shirts white? From what I saw on Cabelas website, nothing comes in white.

They are the "Stone" color, which is close to the Indy shirt color (which is a similar "off-white"). Some good demonstrations of the "off-white" color of the Indy shirt are shown on the main page: http://www.indygear.com/igshirt.html

Wal-Mart had some light khaki safari-style shirts a while back. I bought a few and they subsequently turned white after one or two washings. >.<

which Cabela's shirt feels more comfortable in the hot weather? the 100% cotton or the 65/35 blend?

Having owned both, I feel that while the 100% cotton is thicker fabric than the 65/35 fabric, it breathes way better. For travels in the hot summer weather of Israel, I always preferred the 100% cotton over the 65/35 fabric. But this is also just my opinion.

I've never worn it though. Not sure of the quality, but the price seems decent for a new shirt.

With the cotton, was there a lot of shrinkage? Should I buy one size larger?

You could boil the shirt in tea for a few minutes and give it a more 'khaki' color if you wanted to. It's easy to do with cotton.

Never experienced any shrinkage, and the cuts are a bit generous anyway. No need to order a size up.

I got a chance to get 100% stone-colored cotton this past weekend at Cabela's in Schaumburg and, with tax, paid less than $24. It is definitely thicker (I had previously owned the 65/35) and it does breathe better. I prefer the cotton over the blend.

Good call, NS. Cabela's Safari shirt is about as close to the Indy screen shirt as one can possibly get, save for the vertical pleats. At $19.95 on sale at the moment, it is a fine deal.

Thank you for mentioning the sale, TS. I just bought two more: a long sleeve and short sleeve, both tan. It turns out there was an additional promotional code, so I got each one for $14.99! I have one of the more accurate stone long-sleeve shirs already, but the tan looks better on me. And since my old ones are now too big on me, I've been needing to get some new ones anyway.
