Sgt: Are you folks at Wing's ever going to be able to offer the Kangaroo Indy's again? I did a search here, but couldn't come up with any data about time of discountiuing, why, etc. Really curious. I had one and gave it away (good cause at the time) but, I now, after all these years, find myself thinking about it a great deal. Thanks! W>

Wouldn't it be better to contact Sarge directly by phone? He's easy enough to get a hold of.

Yeah CM you are right and I will do so. Just thought it might be an interesting topic for others as well, especially those who might never have heard about this 'once upon a time' offering from a few years back. Thanks. W>

I did a search of kangaroo for 'Leather Jacket' and 5 pages came up.

I own a K'roo jacket (not an Indy - a top quality bike jacket). I find roo to be very tough but also too stiff and unyielding. Goat is much nicer and Wings has stopped selling goat too, I understand.

_... You needn't worry, my skin is tougher than that. I just did a fast search while the thought was bouncing around in my head and did not follow through because of time constraints, so threw it out for question. My error.
I do appreciate the info however as to the situation which has been provided. When I had mine I did not have it for long, so no 'foot work' from my end ever allowed me to discover what it was really like in the long run. Thanks. W>

Wow, the Roo US Wings jacket I just picked up from Forrest is as soft and drape-y as lamb?

I almost wanna ask - can it really be roo then? But how would I know? The roo jackets I've seen are a hard leather. They are the very opposite of soft. I'd love it if there were a buttery soft roo leather - like lamb, but impervious to wear. For me that box is usually ticked by goat hide - a leather that's very hard to obtain over here.

These are the photos of the jacket from when I first got it. The color is slightly exaggerated from the sunlight. It really is a soft jacket. The leather is pretty thin, but extremely tough. Had it been my size, I certainly would have kept it. Indeed, though, where the raw leather is visible, such as on the leather strip for the zipper pull, the color is nearly black. A dark gray would be a better description.

Thanks Forrest! Yeah, I was puzzled by that scratch on the pocket, thinking "why is it grey? It's like it soaked up some dye or something." Now it has become clear. The tag says Kangaroo, and it really is a tough leather, so no way it's lamb, and it doesn't look like any goat that I've ever seen. I may exaggerate when I say "soft like lamb", but it's more like lamb to the touch than cowhide (maybe similar to goat).

I'm really surprised to read that "Kangaroo leather is stiff" on this thread. Ok, it's just a Wiki page, but:
