Which leather do you multi-jacket folks find to be the most comfortable in the hotter months?

I have a US Wings VIP cowhide which is great for fall and spring, but it's just a little to warm for anything above 65-70.

Lambskin, the only way to fly when the temp. goes up. Cheers

How does the goatskin compare? Peter said it was actually the lighter leather. Any experience with it?

I'd prefer something with a little more durability than lamb...

Goatskin is a bit heavier. You may want to consider the Wested lambtouch cowhide. It has the weight and drape of lambskin, but the toughness of cowhide....a good compromise. BUT, that said, the goatskin is definitely tougher, and depending on where you are, can be worn in warm areas, but is murder in hot and humid locations.Where you're located in St. Louis, a goatskin could work if you don't put a heavy leather dressing on it, but stay with a leather lotion, keeping the physical weight the same. You may actually want to givea goatskin serious consideration. Regards. Michaelson

Michaelson - I've read this before. Can you clarify for me.
I don't understand, surely the trade off for it being the weight and drape of lambskin is that it would be a less durable leather than normal cowhide ?

I live in Florida and of course the weather is warm most of the year.I read every post i could on the types of leather and in my opinion lamb was the only way for me to go if i wanted to get any comfortable wear from my Indy jacket. So far my wear has been to turn the AC down to 60 and put on my jacket !!

The trade off is that should you snag the lambtouch, the possibility of it ripping is MUCH less than it is with a lambskin jacket. Cowhide leather fibers are much denser and tougher than lambskin will EVER hope to be, BUT, the lambtouch is a much lighter weight hide. If you're wanting something as tough as a standard cowhide, order either standard cowhide or goatskin. If you're wanting the immediate drape and physical weight of lambskin out of the box, and the tough, tear resistant nature of cowhide, the lambtouch cowhide is the way to go. Regards. Michaelson

My Raiders Goat jacket is comfortable up to about 70 degrees in
moderate humidity. Much more than that and it starts getting too
warm for me. Just my two cents.
