Quick question..

I've bought an XL Bantu from Todd that's a bit too large and Id like to shrink it.
What's the best way??
Has anyone wet their jacket completely, hung it until damp and then run through a cycle in a dryer??
Would that work do y'all think, or is it possibly too drastic??

Yes they have and often. I'ver read many posts, do a search.

I wash all my jackets in the machine with soap.

Best way...I can only tell you what I just did, closed up the hand warmers with masking tape and put the jacket on a sturdy hanger, gave it a good, hot shower. Threw it in the drier for several minutes on hot. The jacket shrunk and I had control over the amt. of water applied. jmo.

Hey darthbish,
We definatly do not recoment using heat to shrink the jacket. What Todd did with one of them was, dampen it with a spray bottle or wet towel and tumble dry it in the drier on air dry, not heat. The heat might stiffin up the jacket especially in places that will dry faster than others, like the sleeves.

Leather isn't like cotton or wool - more heat doesn't equal more shrink. Heat + leather = bad.

I hope it's a size LARGE then!

I gave my Bantu Wind the cold water wash as soon as I got it, before I gave myself time to talk myself out of it. I ran it through the whole cycle, but without soap. Then threw it in the dryer on the "Low/Knits" cycle for probably half hour-forty five minutes. I wear a size 42 suit and the jacket was an XL. After the cold water wash it fits PERFECTLY.
