Liz's Litany Of Lids

Post by TheSavoryTrim »

Y'all are gonna get about sick of me.

I got three new hats in the past week (I know, I know).

From left to right - Dobbs Golden Coach, Fifth Avenue (not a DOBBS Fifth Avenue, just a Fifth Avenue) annnd another Dobbs. The plaid one isn't really something I would have normally pursued, but it was being sold in a lot with the other Dobbs and the price was right. Anyway, pictures ahoy.

Excuse the bathroom pics, it's the only place in the house with decent lighting.

Nice finds!!!....You certainly do suit a lid...

Love the Dobbs....No side dents?......The 5th Avenue looks a different colour in the last shot...

That must be quite the collection you have now.. :D

Great hats! If you ever come across a similar style in black or charcoal in 7 1/4... let me know!

Thanks,

Ian - thank you!! Yes, the fedora family is steadily growing. Indeed, the Fifth Avenue is a very very dark, almost brownish olive tone. The flash makes it look a bit lighter in the first picture. The last shot is much more true to form. And no side dents on that Dobbs, which makes it unique among my collection.

Mags, I'll keep an eye out for sure. I often scour the Bay for finds (in fact, I think of myself as quite the fedora bargain hunter). All three of those hats are 7 1/4, I tend to wear that size more than 7 1/8 although either size will fit me decently. Strider wears 7 1/4 also, so it makes things much more entertaining in terms of "hat envy". ;)

GREAT hats, Liz... and they definitely suit you well. A very flattering look that you pull off with ease.
Nice finds!

I just noticed that in pretty much every picture I ever post, I look like a deer caught in the headlights. I promise I DO smile in pictures...sometimes...

Thank you Mitch! :D

I swear, I've got one more coming in the mail and I'm done (not a fedora though, amazingly enough it's a ladies' hat..).

I'm done, I swear!!

Hat thievery may be afoot...

I have a "fabulous" hat coming in the mail. I felt like my collection was lacking an "old lady come-to-jesus church hat" so I ordered a white floppy one with like a huge silver pimp rose on the back and stuff. I hope it comes today.

In other fedora news, Strider and I got into a hat fight last night in which we beat each other mercilessly with our fedoras. I think my neighbors are going to have the state mental hospital on speed dial...

I hope Strider wasn't using that Ford Felt AB I sold back to him! Otherwise I would demand that he sell it BACK to me!

Or CDO. Which is just like OCD except the letters are in order like they SHOULD be! ;)
