That is just too good! Look at the collar! That's the Raiders collar!
What an incredible jacket. The fit, the drape, the colour, everything about it is just so...right.
I'd go as far as to say it looks more like the jacket seen on screen than ANY other replica I've seen from any vendor. Ever.
Minus the distressing of course.
Are you sure Wested made this? ;)
Honestly, I bet these pictures make many current Wested Raiders owners order another, in the (possibly vain) attempt to get one
that looks this good. Very clever marketing strategy perhaps?
Nice purchase, and nice work Wested.

Is it regular ROLA or Hero? Could you do me a favour and measure pockets and action pleats depth?

I'm pretyt sure it is the hero. the hero pattern has the falling of the shoulder feature and the longer collar pluss the LC label in it..so...

Yeah, I agree with you Holt. Its definitely the Hero. Those pockets tell that tale! ;) Its a shame that pattern is so costs so much more to purchase. I'd have one if it weren't for that! Congrats again Whiskey, the more I look the more I like!

Your jacket, when zipped-up in the photo you posted, looks like the one seen in the Raven’s Bar seen. I really like that. Where can I see the new Wested Hero jacket on the Wested website. I can’t find it. Is it up there yet? I do like that jacket. Honestly, I don’t think this looks like the US Wings Legend, as far as the collar goes. Mine doesn’t look like that.

Great Jacket Whiskyman,

Colour, fit, details... the goatskin is an amazing hide (I have a goat wested raiders as well)
As for the distressing, only give the jacket a wash... it softens and break in the leather.
And give it wear, that's all.

Congrats for the jacket!!!

Whiskeyman, that is brilliant! If I could beg for anything it's that Peter keeps templates for THIS jacket and the ONLY thing he permits changes to is sleeve length.

Outstanding!

This is at least the 2nd or 3rd jacket from Wested that looks just awesome. Awesome jacket Whiskyman, fits well on you. I am thinking of ordering a Wested myself here soon. Is this just a custom order, or did you ask for the Hero jacket he is making? Just amazes me, I have seen at least 2-3 custom orders and one guy didn't ask for anything really custom and got an awesome jacket. Looks exactly the same as yours except for the hide at least. One of the best I have seen from Wested thus far.

Regards,

Mine (cowhide) looks pretty good, but that is from an untrained, not-going-for-SA eye.

That goat does look nice.

That is a very fine jacket, every bit as cool looking as any Nowak I've seen on this site.

Peter: Why not abandon custom jobs and just make this your standard Raiders pattern? Make your life easier.

This jacket is incredible good looking. May I ask what's on the price tag?

At least I'm unsure now, to wait if the Hero Jacket is going to appear on Wested's site... or to order one via email instead. :?

If I could get one that looks just like that one for the price of a normal OTR I'd be all over it. I'm still confused as to where this pattern has been all these years... :-k

Yep. Ouch. Kind of a slap in the face for anyone who's bought a Raiders jacket from Wested in the past and been unhappy with the level of 'accuracy'.
If I were a Wested Raiders owner, I'd be kinda annoyed by this development. Every jacket should have looked like this, right from the start.
Where did this 'Hero' pattern come from (and where has it been!)? Honestly? Is it just copied from a Nowak jacket?

I have a feeling if you guys all just sit back and stop ordering the same old Raider OTR pattern and, for that matter, any customs, that good old Pete will make the Hero pattern the standard OTR. Why do I say this? I’ll put this delicately. Don’t you people get the feeling that your are being laughed at by this guy? Yeah, he’s very nice and friendly, but he mocks you people. Go to his shop, mention COW, but don’t act like an avid member, in fact, act like you think its sort of silly, and see what he says. Wake up. Quit acting like a bunch of naïve kids. If it smells like ####, tastes like ####, and looks like ####, then it’s ####.

If you’re all like _ and have nothing to show for your 200, 400, 800, or 2,000 dollars, then hit the man where it hurts; his wallet. Stop buying the same old junk and he’ll make any change you want him to make. Why do you think they don’t carry out most of the special requests to the custom orders? They know they’ve got a captive market. You guys try to act like you’re not, but you are. You’re being laughed at and you just keep coming back for more. $500 for some modified jacket pattern that would usually cost you about 200? Come on. Pete made this guy’s jacket in the hero specs because he knew it would be getting show off here, just like good ol’ Sarge does. This place gets new members ever day, people who are just trying to learn about Indy jackets before buying one. Organize a boycott somehow. If enough people here stop buying, Pete will change things. Better yet, if you people get together, you can address you grievances with the local town council where Pete’s operation is located. After all, he’s showing pictures of jackets on his website that look nothing like the finished product. Hit him where it hurts. Stop acting like a bunch of kids who don’t have the power to do anything.

Ok folks, seeing how this one is circling the drain real quick, let's just shut it down.
Whiskyman pulled all of his comments and photos, so there really is no reason for this thread anymore.

I will be pulling it shortly (I certainly hope no one has any objections to that.....)
