Redone Grey Penman

I recently took my very first custom made hat, a Penman, and did some work of my own to it. My nearly 2 year old Grey Raiders Seaplane Penman hat was in need of some reshaping and the liner was falling out (due to all of my fiddling with it over the years). So I popped out the bash, steamed the entire hat, and got it back to it's original open crown shape. It looked brand new! I got the entire Raiders bash out of it. So I decided to try a new look. I put in a 5-point diamond crease (at least I tried to) and a loose front pinch. I really like the look of it and I think I am going to keep it that way.
After I reshaped it, I then needed to sew the liner back in. I used the tutorial by Marc to help me and I have to say, I am pretty proud of the work I did. I now feel like I have a brand new hat!
Sorry for the crummy pictures, I will try to take some better pics later.
And a pic of the newly sewn in liner:

Great work Nick!!!..You've done really well to get that Raiders bash out...I can't even see a trace of it..
Great work on the lining dude!! Did you try to pick up on the existing holes? I was gonna stitch the lining in my Henry a while back because it was glued in....In the end I thought 'sod it' and sent it to John...
Love the bash...The side profile shot looks perfect!!...
Oh aye...before I forget.....Need to see shots of it on your noodle!!

I can only second that, very Bogey like. And great work on the new sewing of the liner.

Very nice. I get temped to do that to my gray AB sometimes. I haven't gone for it, though. It's not like I don't have other gray hats.

Thanks guys! This hat may not even fit me anymore... since my head is beginning to swell!
I was aiming for a Bogey style when I began to reshape it. So I am glad you are saying it actually looks like a Bogey!
And I was really surprised that I managed to get the entire Raiders crease out. I have been putting that crease in over and over for the past 2 years... and I didn't think I would ever get it out. But I steamed it, then rubbed the crease gently, steamed, rubbed, and eventually it was just gone! The entire crown looked like it never had a bash in it before! So I took that clean slate and tried this style.
As for the liner, I could not find the original holes. The liner fell out probably a year or so ago and I've just been tucking it into the sweatband. It was hard going at first, but after I made a few stitches I got the hang of it.
I'm starting to get tempted to get myself a few blocks and reblock a few hats! Watch out John, Steve, and Marc! Competition is heading your way!

I love the 5 and 6 point diamond creases. You did a great job with this one. I think I'm going to try that on one of my lids to have a little variety.
