I have canceled my US Wings US made Legend order because I had been waiting months without much of an update and am now looking for something more custom. I have decided to go with Magnoli. I'm looking for a jacket that is pretty SA in regards to Raiders. Here is my customized list of add-ons/changes I want:

-Magnoli Predistressed Dark Brown Goat (may make note for even more distressing)
-Version A
-Dark Gunmetal/Black sliders
-(Nickel) Number 5 zipper
-All cotton interior (body & sleeves)
-Extra reinforcement on handwarmer pockets
-No inside leather facings

How large are the pockets on the Version A? Anyone have measurements?

Anything else I need to take note of? Anything I'm missing?

.

If nobody chimes in I can only say that you should call Magnoli and ask him these things yourself. He is very good about helping. I have several non-Indy items from him and he was very helpful in any and all inquiries. :)

Looks like a great list to me! It is looking like Mag's is gonna be my next jacket, so I'm anxious to how this works out.

My only suggestion is to go with satin lining, at least in the sleeves. I have an all cotton lined Wested and it can be a little tough tugging on shirts.

Indiana Jeff

I second Jeff's advice. Cotton sleeve will be a royal pain. I actually wish I had gone full satin in mine, but the sleeves in satin are practical (and SA, if I recall right).
I've seen pictures of the distressed goatskin - nice choice!
My version A pockets measure 6.5" across and 7.5" high (with flap). I asked for standard style A pockets, but you may want to ask Magnoli if they modify pocket size based on the size of the jacket. Some clothing makers do that automatically.
Last, pay attention to the interior pockets - let Magnoli know if you want the normal Indy inside pockets, or his own three-pocket set up (a regular size, a mini-size, and a regular size zip pocket).

I have a goat Magnoli version A, though I think my measurements may be of little help to you. I gave him custom specs and my jacket has shrunk significantly from being wet.

Define significantly, Kaplan. I know that's hard to describe, but for example, how much sleeve length, and back length, etc. did you lose? I am seriously contemplating a Mag's, and stuff like this will go into my measurments that I submit.

Thanks,

Travis

Thanks for the help guys. Here are my updated specs, check the lining :TOH: :

1. Magnoli Predistressed Dark Brown Goat
2. Version A
3. Dark Gunmetal would be my first choice for color of the sliders, my second choice would be Flat Black
4. (Nickel) Number 5 zipper
5. All dark brown silk interior (body & sleeves) – I would prefer the silk to be just a little thicker than normal, and I would like the silk interior to fit fairly snug to the jacket so it won’t be too loose and prone to getting caught/snagged on anything.
6. Extra reinforcement on handwarmer pockets (stitching)
7. No inside leather facings on the zipper
8. Small zipper pull extending as low as possible without the zipper pull showing
9. Pockets about 16cm wide and 20cm high
10. Extra breast pocket (one on the left, one on the right)

Just ordered this:

1. Magnoli Predistressed Dark Brown Goat
2. Version A
3. Dark brushed Gunmetal would be my first choice for color of the sliders, my second choice would be Flat Black
4. (Nickel) Number 5 zipper
5. Dark brown 100% silk interior (body & sleeves)
6. Extra reinforcement on handwarmer pockets (stitching)
7. No inside leather facings on the zipper
8. Small zipper pull extending as low as possible without the zipper pull showing
9. Pockets about 16cm wide and 20cm high
10. Extra breast pocket (one on the left, one on the right with zipper)

It was $75 extra for the 100% silk interior.

Anyone know the average wait time for a Magnoli?

I'd steer you away from predistressed. JMO but I've seen pics of the distressed and it looks like somebody took a new jacket and tried to predistress it. Do yourself a favor and do it yourself - either naturally or by following some of the great advice you can find around here on how to do it right.

I've only seen predistressing done well by one vendor EVER. Dan at Logan's Closet - and he doesn't make an Indy jacket. Smart guy!

Magnoli's goatskin is beautiful and perfect for distressing yourself.

Best of luck and good choice!

I'm from the Michaelson school of thought on distressing, but Tony Nowak Originals does an amazing job as well. Especially on the LC jacket.

Currently we're at about three months.
