Is anyone else still waiting on their US Wings Legend?

Post by Mark Brody »

It seems US Wings has had a few production delays with their jackets. I ordered the imported cow large long, and originally expected it to ship in late October. After, literally, months of the jackets "arriving next week", for the past couple of weeks the story has been "we just got it in stock today/tomorrow."

I know the standard answer is to just call them, but as you can see, I've called several times, and never got the same story twice. I'm also not trying to bash US Wings. They make great jackets, and everyone should decide for themselves whether or not they like their offerings. I'm just trying to figure out...

Is anyone else still waiting on their jacket, and what have you heard for an ETA?

I don't know about the adult Legend, but my sons Kids Legend just arrived the other day. I ordered it in late November. When I called Wings a few days after Christmas, they told me that many of their jackets were stuck in customs on their way from the manufacturers, delayed by snow storms. That doesn't explain from October to December, but that's all I know

My U.S. Made Cow Legend is a Large Long and I originally ordered it in mid-November. Everytime after Dec. 21st when I either called or e-mailed the story was "it will be going out either later today or tomorrow". I'm not a basher either, but if there is no date even in the conservative future then I would much rather hear, "we have had production delays and the earliest estimated ship date is now targeted for the end of January." That would be fine by me, I'm just not sure why they keep telling me dates that are so soon. I know I'll love my jacket and wings seems like a great store, just wish I knew more about where my jacket was. Hopefully not lost!

I ordered my Import Cow and received it about 7 days later.
However, mine was not a long. So, I guess being short does have its advantages.

Kwad, from what I've heard, it's only the long sizes that have been delayed. I'm totally with you, bobcat; if it looks like a monthlong or two month delay, just be honest about it.

awesome news. can't wait to see it.

I'm glad you guys are getting some XL's. and some longs for alittle extra lenght. a Raiders jacket should not be form fitting and THIGHT. It should have a drape and alittle baggy look to it. that is raiders IMO. now, temple of doom? THAT is a form fitting jacket.

I agree. The raides looks like is mostly in the way becasue of it's baggynes. it looked to be tigther in the chest and wide in the gut. The raiders was never form fitting in my opinion.

alltough the USW Raiders is the new hype - I am still a big fan of the hero antique cowhide.

I was on the original list in July for the calfskin and
then added to the striated lamb list. When I saw some
of you guys receiving your jackets this week I
decided to check on mine. I called Myke on
Wednesday. He did have my name on the list.
He said they just came in the night before and
mine would go out that day. I did not receive
a confirmation email or shipping info that night
or Thursday. So Friday, I called, and the girl that
answered said she just saw my order and it was
going out that day. I did not receive the order
confirmation or shipping email as of this
morning. (Saturday)
I am not bashing, just curious.

I have a regular Large on order.

here is an example of how the Raiders baggy look should be. This is an Imported jacket. this is how we see the jacket on screen IMO. that's why an XL will work for me and not a large. this is the look of raiders and that is what I want. :D

I'm excited for e every one with a jacket on the way! I hope they all arrive soon. It seems like these jackets come in stock in their own good time doesn't it. "I promised nothing. I only said that it was very favorable. With the data we had my calculations were correct" ;) Kinda sounds familiar LOL Sometimes I think US Wings is as excited to see us get these as we are to receive them... maybe they get a little too optimistic with their ship dates. In the end Sarge always takes care of us so I have no problem cutting them a little slack. All I can say is this particular project is worth the wait.

Yup Holt I think your observations on the slight bagginess in Raiders is spot on. Harrison was a very slender man back then and it would ave taken spandex to have a jacket that was form fitting. In Temple he bulked up and we see a much tighter fit... I don't think Ford liked the way the jacket fit in Temple at all. That's probably a big reason that the next two films see the jacket evolve to a much looser design. The Raiders look is just too darn hard to definitively pin down but a slight bagginess is a key IMO. I can't wait to see how your XL turns out for you. Judging by the fit of your hero jacket I have high hopes that that XL will be a perfect fit for you.

As for the leathers, I'm blown away by the SL. Completeley blown away :Dietrich:

The cowhide version is pretty nice too but man the way this SL is naturally distressing is crazy.

yeah, I know. I'm blown away too. It is the coolest leather I have seen. I'm 6.2' and 200pounds. 45 chest. 35 waist and broad shoulders so I think the XL will be good.

yep. sounds like it. I did not chose long because IMO the raiders is on the short side. but in the end it is all about what YOU like and feel comfortable with. perosnally I like short jackets.

Oops I'm 6'3" (6'2"& 3/4 LOL!)so im hoping the length isn't to long. I remember Tony Nowak saying that the Raiders is a shorter jacket like you said Holt. I'll have to see how mine fits compared to yours maybe I'll go with the regular XL to get the Raiders look.

everything from 24.5'' to 26'' is perfect raiders lenght IMO. 23.5'' as the nowak orignaly is, is to short for a guy at 6.2' tall. JMO

I just got off the phone with US wings. Apparently there have been all sorts of delays from a death in the factory, to customs delays (US Wings usually does not outsource their work, and therefore do not regularly deal with customs), to snowstorms and airport closures. As best I can tell, the long sizes are the ones that are still trickling in, and unfortunately the striated lambskin may take even longer than the cowhide as they are having trouble determining the status of those jackets. Every estimate they've given has been their best estimate, but they just keep hitting roadblock after roadblock. Hopefully (for them and for us) they don't see any more delays like these. I hope my next post will have pictures of my jacket.

I have been on the list since July, but I just paid last week. I will keep you up to date. Set for Wednesday delivery.

Well, when I started the thread, I was most concerned about imported cow long sizes, but when I called them up earlier today, it sounded like SL would take a little longer than cow (see my above post).

Jinxed1, I too got a tracking number from UPS a few hours ago, same story as yours - imported cow large long.

I will be in New York City Tomorrow in a Business meeting with Roz Schott going over the US Made Striated Lambskin Longs ! My Cell Phone number is: 330-322-2953 We should have an ETA for Longs in the US Cow.. US Bison and the US Striated Lamb.. Longs only make up 2% of our orders and with the shortage of High quality leather Regs. come first and then longs are made.. Regs and Longs are not made the same time nor are they cut the same time. All I can say is ask anyone that has Our US Legend made by Roz Schott Jackets ... It is worth it and the Striated Lamb is the Best of the Best no matter what the price.

I'm also looking forward to seeing your pics Scott. I'm dying to take some Pecard's to my wifes jacket because I know that will really do something to the look of the leather, but she won't let me yet.

If you read this thread, you'll see that the long sizes had some issues. Granted, you ordered US made as opposed to my imported one, but I suppose it's possible both have the same issues. You'd have to call US Wings to know for sure. When I last spoke with Myke a week or two ago, he said they'd fix the error in the pockets (the error was in the whole run, not just the one jacket), but it'd be about 2 months before they get the next run. I'll give 'em till the end of April before I bug them again about the imported ones.

Yeah, I went ahead and canceled mine. I thought 3 months was a bit excessive for an OTR jacket. I went ahead and ordered a custom Magnolis which might get here quicker even though its custom. When US Wings actually has them in stock I might rethink it, which will be a while I'm guessing.

Yes! All longs (all sizes) pockets where placed incorrectly. Might be 6-8 weeks longer if Sarge wants to make them still. So we might not get them after all. I would call Wings and ask.
