My last crusade HH from 08

Post by Holt »

This my friends is my LC jacket from summer 08. I decided to give it alittle distress job (sorry Mark) Reason for doing it is because I have another on the way soon and this jacket is HH and would take FOREVR to distress. And especially when it will not recieve much more wear anymore after I get my new upcomming LC. Luckilly NOT one stitch is busted due distressing. not even touched! I was VERY carefull. I might sell it but I have a hard time parting from my jackets... even tho I have many, I'm weird that way...

Here she is in ALMOST her original color.

Depending upon your size (of course) I would be very interested in that HH Last Crusade. I love the LC jacket, and a horsehide is right up my alley. If you do decide to sell it, please post measurements with the jacket, esp. chest and shoulders.

That is a nice jacket, Holty! The yoke looks a wee bit wide, but I like it! I'm prepared to arm wrestle for the rights to it! :H:

thanks, the yoke is the same width as the nowak CS. it just hangs really low due the hanger.

I might not sell it at all.. but I may...

Woah!! Sweet jacket. I'm a huge LC jacket fan. If you ask me? The raiders jacket just seems to be in the way all the time. It does not look all that well on Ford in my opinion. I personally do not get all this fuz about the Raiders jacket. I respect your inerest in it but LC for me. :D

well, the reason for why I like the LC so much is because of that low yolk and those pockets.

The only Raiders jacket I would like is the bantu wind Raiders jacket with the low yolk and the LC'ish pockets.

Usually when I sometimes post gear pics (and it happens rarely) it's usually on sundays.. lol..

I was really bored today and thought I could show this one with full gear.

It's not LC gear. it's Raiders, to be honest.. I think the LC jacket looks MUCH better with Raiders gear.

I have a few. not long ago, I lay them all on my bed.. really, and I kid you not. you could not even see the bed under them. I showed it to my wife and she just walked out.. luckily she is into ''used'' jackets and worn down clothes herself (like beat up torn up tight lady jeans) so she understands my hobby.. the only thing she doesn't understand is that I want so many of the same jacket cuz to her eyes they are ALL the same..

For me the CS jacket has 2 flaws. The pre-destressed leather looks like too much like a generic 1980's brown flight jacket and the pockets are pretty bland. The flap lacks scalloping and is too narrow. But that's just my taste. I'm sure it is really well made.

oh, that I am sure off.

Tony makes amazing work. hardwear garments. Tony just delievered. Bernie IMO should have chosen Lamb. No need for cowhide. It's just a movie afterall. look at the original trilogi. Imagine the CS in alittle darker thicker lambskin, give it a watertreatment and a good distress job by hand. Now there's your CS jacket Bernie. :TOH:

As I recall, though, Bernie's biggest concern was he had to have a leather that could take a LOT of getting soaked. Remember how many times Forded ended up in water? That was the same reason beaver felt was chosen over the rabbit for the fedora. It could take a LOT of water.
Lambskin would have never survived, and the racks of replacement jackets would have FAR exceeded what Tony delivered in cowhide.

Is this the new wested collar config. (pointy) or the old one (floppy) ? WHichever one it is, it really looks "correct" :notworthy:

Also is the fed a III or a IV?

The wested is correct in all features. it's from 08 so it's new. I think they started this pattern in 06 and definitely by 07 due the production of CS.

hat is fed4.

This is one of the best LC jackets I've ever seen. I love my CS Nowak, but I agree with Holt that there's no need for cowhide for the appearance reasons. At the same time, I know since my CS is made of cowhide, it will last forever. It can take the kind of abuse no other jacket can take.

Indy didn't wear a frizzed up doo, with sunglasses, Holty! You tryin' ta be a rock star? :P

...I still like it, though. :P

It looks alot like the one I just received. I went shorter, as well, 26" back length.

I think that naked leather is the way to go on the LC jacket, more of a warm brown color.

How heavy is yours by the way?

Yes you do! :P

Actually, it is the minor details, those little eccentricities, that set the LC jacket apart from Raiders, no? But on further examination, you realize that the LC jacket and the Raiders jackets are two different animals, because they are constructed differently.

yeah, I know.. but over the years of jacket collecting and spec making I have come to te point where I do not care so much about it being super accurate to any of the hero jackets anymore..

I will never get the Raiders hero or the LC hero jacket. I have realized that now. it's a ghost I will never capture unless I'm Peter venkman or something.

Sorry for coming late to this thread, but Holt I see that you got your jacket with what looks to be about the same body-length to sleeve-length ratio as my own. I've been a little worried about that choice so I'm glad to see I'm not alone.

I love my Wested HH LC/CS jacket for what it is - a great quality short jacket that I think suits my style. But after I got it, I looked again at the movie version (I hadn't watched the movie in years), and it seems to me that, in SA terms, my choice of back length was 'too short' for this jacket. What is your take on this, and did you purposely order the shorter back length?
