Anyone use these, how are they? I'm thinking of buying some for my 405's. Thoughts, comments?

Yes I have, and YES, you do want them.

They keep your shoes in shape when not being worn, they wick away all moisture from the leather between 'wearings', and they absorb odor.

A win-win all the way round. Extends the life of shoes by years. Seriously!

The late, great Sergei put me onto these years ago, and I still quietly thank him when I pull out one of my pairs of shoes with these shoe trees installed. You can purchase also them at really good shoe shops too to put in your dress shoes.

I keep them in all my good shoes. In my opinion a MUST have for owners of good, expensive leather shoes who want them to last....that and regular application of something like Meletonian neutral or 'brick' shoe paste, Pecards for the seams, and alternating pairs of shoes from day to day to allow your boots to dry out.

Thanks Michaelson for the reply! Yes I do want them now with all I have learned from you and my research. In case any wants some I found that Nordstrom has them on sale now for $14.99 in stores and online. Thanks for your help.

My Alden shoe tree is a stump! I only have one pair of the 403's.

You need to invest in the rest of the tree, Tex!

I bought my shoe tree today at Nordstrom. I must say they are amazing and definitely do the trick! Those wrinkles that form around the toe area disappear when you insert the trees. I'm truly glad I purchased them hopefully they'll help prolong the life of my Alden's!

When you send your shoes in for restoration, they come back with shoe trees.

Thanks guys! How does the sizing work on the Alden Tree? I'm a 10 E in a 405, what size of Tree should I purchase? Small, Medium or Large?

Probably a large will work best for you. but you could always ask them when you order.

Large usually fits like this;
(This is the label on my shoe tree box from Nordstrom)
11N - 12N
10M - 11M
8-1/2W - 9-1/2W

My guess is your a large or maybe XL. Try your local Nordstrom, Mens Warehouse even Ikea sells shoe trees (plastic) for .99 cents a pair! Good luck, you won't regret buying them.

True, but because they are plastic & not cedar, they offer nothing in the way of moisture wicking, which is what you want. Cedar draws in the moisture from persperation that is in the leather & lining of the shoes that is cause by wearing them.
