How many whips do you own????

I'm not sure how many we have....

I would guess maybe 15 or so......

I want Robert to make me a special whip.... But I'll have to wait a long time to get one made.....

Maybe I should get someone else to make me one.... The bad thing about that is I would have to pay for it.... lol

I have 2 bullwhips...an old 6 footer given to me buy an old ranch hand when I was 10 years old and a 12 footer I purchased at a mountain man gathering while in my teens...I am currently deciding on where to purchase my first official Indy replica whip. Brett

An 8 foot Tim Bass nylon and one of Kyle's (The Edge) pocket bullwhips. But I am thinking about adding a 10ft Stenhouse b/c I want a variety and I love his work. I just have save some moola b/c the Expedition is so expensive (but worth it).

I've got an 8' Mike Murphy bullwhip, a pocket bull (#10), and am currently working on making my first whip ...a snakewhip similar to the one PropReplicator (Wayne) made.

I've got 1, just arrived the other day: 8 foot, 4 plait nylon from LoneTree Tack. Yes I know, I've never heard of them either, but their whip isn't bad as far as I can tell for 38 dollars

That doesn't count the ones that I am making for customers - those aren't really mine unless I don't get paid for them. (Never have been stiffed by a non-paying customer) I am putting a mini Indy and a dark tan 7' Indy up on Ebay this weekend. Time to move some out the door. The 7' Indy has only been used a little - used it in Dallas this past weekend to win 2nd place in the Zorro board precision contest. And ITG cracked it a little bit too. So that is about the extent other than some cracking in the back yard to get it set and see where it falls.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

And I must say that 7 footer had a good feel to it when I cracked it. If you're looking for a bullwhip, this is a good one.

I bought a whip from them quite some time ago, a 10' 6 plait leather swivel. Not a bad whip, except for the fall they have on those whips. I chopped it off and put on an Aussie style white hide fall~ first whip maintenance I had ever done. That thing has taken a beatin'. At least now I know 1 other person who's bought one from them .

At current count, we have (my other half and I) 16 whips from various makers, the oldest of which (a restoration project) is over 100 years old, dating from the Boer War.

There's a fella not far from us, who owned over 50 whips last time I spoke to him.

I've currently got 6, but I've worn out about 6 or 7 more over the years. They were $15 Mexican whips that I would pick up every time we drove over to Juarez. Now I have a 10' David Morgan, and I haven't touched one of the others since.

Add my fantastic 10' Robert Duke Indy whip to the list!

I've got three.

a 10' four plait Meskin bullwhip.
an 8' eight plait swivel handle bullwhip.
and a really beautiful twelve plait 6' blue nylon Dittmer snakewhip (I think it's about 6' anyway).

Mr. Dittmer has started work on a brown nylon bullwhip for me.

I really like the nylon ones; you can use them where you wouldn't want to take a leather one and the play in them is amazing.

The Bucheimer had never been used and I haven't done anything to it. So it really is NOS 'new old stock'.

Impressive collection Adam, thanks for posting the picture. The Simon Martin and 16x24 Fraser stockwhips especially stand out to my eye, but they are all very fine whips. I get the feeling you have more whips that you've made and kept for yourself though right. All the Best.

Actually, I only count 35 whips in that picture, not 36.

The ones I'm having trouble finding are Paul's 4th whip and Janine's 6th.

I can figure out which whips are whose, except for the black signal whip, but that might be Paul's fourth, if he made it, but I don't remember seeing it in Oklahoma.

I know Janine has made signal whips before, but the black signal whip doesn't look like the one that I've seen.

As far as 36 whips go, I actually think that you forgot to put one of Chris's whips in the shot. I know he has two pair of short Strain bullwhips, like 4 ft and 3 ft, and of those, you're missing one whip from one of the pairs. So you guys did have 36 whips in Oklahoma, just not not in the picture.

I count 16 bullwhips, 17 stockwhips, and 2 signal whips, which adds up to 35 whips.
