Over the break I did some digging into the Young Indy adventure Curse of the Jackal, Part 2 a.k.a. Spring Break Adventure, Part 2 a.k.a. Mexico, 1916, and grabbed some frames featuring the bullwhip.

They're up a thread over at The Raven: http://raven.theraider.net/showthread.php?t=21023:

... and here's the closeup:

It looks like it's almost certainly the same whip as in the publicity still of SPF on http://www.indygear.com/igbullwhip.html (not a big surprise, but that's not a still from the episode so they could have swapped something else in)
  • Any observations based on the other frame grabs? The whip's appearance changes dramatically from shot to shot, but the lighting is poor. Was more than one whip used during the filming of the scene, or is it all a trick of the light?
  • Can anyone provide a more specific description than the main IndyGear page, "an American swivel handle-style bullwhip"?

Hi,
I'm trying to make a long whip like this, and maybe there are.
I just have to see if the handle is made of wood or iron.
Within a few months I will do my first test of this young whip.
