Mending the side entry pockets.

Just got a secondhand hh ROLA jacket from a member here. Everyhting is just fine except the side entry pockets. The lower part of both pockets where your hand slide in are ripped.

I plan to take it to a local leather store and have them restitch.

So my question is.....how is the best way to restitch this? Should I tell them to go over the original line or make triangle stop stitches?

I would think that something resembling triangle stop would be the answer, and not going back over the original line, since this is what has pulled out in the first place. Covering new ground with the stitich only adds stength to the reinforcement. They will no doubt have an idea as well.

Thanks for the suggestion.

It seems to me that the original line is still intact only the thread that come out loose. I will try and take some pics and post it here.

please reduce the pics or make links.

I would suggest to have them make a 0.5'' long horizontal stich that begings just where the stiching gave. Just like nowak reinforces his. someone has a picture I believe.

It's basically an L shape stitch.
