Probably closer to what we'd actually see Ford wearing on his 800 acre ranch in Wyoming, though. :-k

He's an old cowpoke who has the scar from a VERY small caliber bullet wound showing on that ear. :-k

Sure. I can buy that..... \:D/

Cross draw. My favorite form of single action revolver carry.

Now that's a good western hat. Modified Gus crease with a bound edge with a pencil roll. How would that go with a Raiders jacket? :-k He looks good. I think he could indy 5 if they hurry up. Script George? It is nice to see a cross draw, Batt Masterson's favorite.

ok maybe not quite a pencil roll. It's more like a hand rolled. It needs a little bit more in roll.

Is'nt that the same style hat he wore in "The Frisco Kid", with Gene Wilder? It looks good!

Those two hats are just as close as the Raiders and the TOD fedoras are at least!

I thought they did a great job at covering it up for KotCS. I always wondered why he didn't just wear one in Six Days. If any character was suitable for one, it was Quinn, but he didn't, yet the hole is glaring.

I don't think he had one at that time, Mike. As I recall, it was Ed Bradley, the 60 minute correspondent, who talked him into getting one, or I think that's what I recall Ford telling an interviewer a few years ago during his CS interview rounds.

Actually, I think it was before Random Hearts. I remember seeing the divot there, and thinking that with the character he'd be playing in Six Days, we'd see an earring on film.

He has told the story of how he got it through a bunch of interviews…much like the chin scar. I think the first time he talked about it was on Oprah when she asked him what his new favorite thing was and he pointed to it.

I had a shot at making this hat. I was told it was to be a early western hat with mexican influences. Didn't have the time to fool with it though. I think Stetson may have made this one, but can't or shouldn't go into it. I know they were in the running real early on. Whomever made it did a great job in nailing the peroid, and the mexican influences.

Given the fact that he's been able to personally influence costume choices in the past, I would not be a bit surprised if he had a bead on a particular western style hat. I suspect that Wyoming may have a custom hat maker or two around to choose from. My history may be all wrong, but didn't they use a local hatter for the western hats in LC?

Steve, the fact that you were called on it only solidifies what is thought of your work.
Bernie must have really loved the CS hat, Harrison too.
That's beyond awesome in my book and a testament to your skills as a hatmaker!!!

Ford's hat looks fine but for some reason Craig's hat to me looks like it's to big for him. It looks like the hat is resting on the top of his ears. :?

Could be what they're going for. Still, it looks a bit off. Hey, I'm just happy to see Ford with a gun in his hand an actually firing it!

Well, yeah... of course he has...
And although it's probably worth mentioning that he's likely made-up to look even a bit more sun-bleached and weather-beaten in that movie than usual (it IS a cowboy movie after all) there's no denying that he IS an older man...
Heck, old enough to be my DAD, for cryin' out loud... many of us here can say that, some can even say he's old enough to be their GRANDPA!
;)
But all that said, whenever I see that man's mug, all I can think is "Geez, if I hope I'm lucky enough to look even HALF that rugged & good-lookin' when I'm in my fifties, let alone when I'm almost 70!"

Did...

did it just get a little bit weird in here?

Throw a 'stache on the man, and he'll be set as the next Sam Elliot! :whip: He suits the grizzled cowboy thing rather well, and his outfit is really good (I want that vest). I don't find the hat to resemble the Frisco Kid hat any more than the Indy fedora resembles the Maltese Falcon fedora... but it works. I agree it could use some more roll, though.
