Had a short but fun visit at Wested last Saturday

Hello all.
Because I was in London to see the Gorillaz gig on Sundayevening, I thought it would be a great idea to visit Wested in Swanley, Kent. A trip which only took half an hour from London Victoria to Swanley.
We took a cab to Little Wested House and we met Peter Botwright. He came over right away and welcomed us in his store. I felt at ease and at home right away.
I bought a black Classic Casual Leather zip jacket from him. I only had to fit on two jackets and the second one was just spot on! Made in England is labeled on the inside. I have to say, the jacket is the softest lamb I've ever felt. It must be the best jacket I ever bought! I was almost tempted to buy a new Indy jacket as those look absolutely stunning!
I enjoyed my brief visit at Peter's and I'm sure I will be going there in the future again. He was so helpful and hearing his stories about his last US trip was really entertaining.
He even gave us a lift back to the station! What a service!
Here is a link of some pictures of me with Peter, of the shop and me wearing the jacket in London.
To Peter, I am glad to have finally met you. It was an honour Sir. And I hope to see you again soon!

Glad you got to go and see Wested Leather AND get a nice jacket too! :) :TOH:
I went there earlier this year and got a Raiders in soft goat. It's quite an amazing place. Especially the smell of hundreds of leather jackets in one place! Mmm Lovely! =P~

Why were you talking to the press, if I may ask?

Oh, ok. I was hoping you weren't on 'America's Most Wanted' or something. ;)

thanks all. yes I had a great time. If i had a bigger budget, I would have gotten a new Indy jacket aswell and maybe an A2. But that's probably for my next trip there. Maybe in a year or so.

Looks like fun, but there's something unsettling about seeing so many Indy jackets all lined up on a rack like that. It sort of detracts from my illusion of Indy's gear being one of a kind.

a bit more than a month did i enjoy my new jacket I bought from Peter. And during our annual whole family dinner at X-Mas someone ripped my jacket. I think it's about 30 cm wide. Don't know who has done it as no-one knew about anything. I was totally ticked and that ruined part of my day. I know there are worse things in life than a jacket but this one, I was getting quite attached to. I e-mailed Peter that same day. Waiting for his reply as I think he will be on holiday himself.

That's great. If I ever make it across the pond, that's one stop I want to make.

…but how could you be on Abbey Road and not take a "crosswalk" pic?! ;) :TOH:
