After receiving the new Flightsuits (Gibson & Barnes) catalog and viewing the first jacket listed, the historical Type A2 Mark 31, I had to see and feel what many of the reps would slober over when talking about how it is in a class all by itself.
Well, it along with about 4 or 5 other samples arrived today. I will tell you that it is indeed in a class all by itself. I never thought I would find a hide I liked more than the oil based horsehide sample I received from Aero about a year and a half ago. Well, I did. Just barely, but this veg tanned goat takes the cake.
It has a texture that is unique. It holds its shape and has a tacky rubbery feel. That may not sound like a "quality" description. You just have to feel it and kneed it in your own hands to see what I mean. It says the color is russet, but it is more of a "true brown" color than the traditional russet (rust) hue of brown. Nice!
Anyhow, thought I'd share. This stuff ain't cheap. Now I know why.
