Things to do while waiting for your Wested...

Okay, I ordered my wersted almost a week ago, still have a few more weeks. What can one do to pass the time? I tried sleeping...#### thing is silly, I wake up in about 8 hours. Why oh why can't I stay asleep until my jacket comes? I tried eating...but after not being able to fit thru the door, I stopped that one. ... :P

seriously though, and suggestions would help, and please, "watch the movies" is a given. But I only own one, TOD, am waiting for DVDs...but I know a store who puts the DVD's on their shelf a few days early!

They put them out on Saturday, not Tuesday!

Anyway, I'm gonna go count how many lightbulbs I have in my house, and then I shall count the fibers in my carpet...

Suggestions PLEASE!

Start a business. I know -- start a business making shirts and pants to repace MBA!

Seriously, the best thing to do is to get involved in an egrossing project. I'm laying a stone path in my backyard, and that involves a lot of physical work, but of course the mind is free to roam.

Writing is good because it engages the mind. Try writing a book. Call it 'Waiting for Wested.' Then when it's published and you make lots of money, you'll be able to fly to England and get your next Wested right away!

I also ordered a Wested jacket.

I know it’s hard to wait. :(
I called Peter and asked him if it was possible to collect the jacket in England.

His reaction;
Dear Gerrit

We note you are going to collect your jacket from our retail outlet on
13th October next, and look forward to seeing you.

There is no need for us to charge the Letap to your credit card as it
retails for £2.50 (Sterling) and can be bought at the time of your
visit.

Cheers Peter
I am leaving this Saturday. :D

Best regards
Gerrit

Personally I've denied ever ordering the jacket regardless of the invoices I have received for purchasing one and any other material pertaining to this fine jacket. This way I can deny ever ordering it until the day it arrives at my home, leaving me in a state of shock.

Ah the famous 'Wested Wait'! :D

I recall waiting for my first Wested and experiencing those exact same emotions. Now, I find myself waiting for my 2nd and it hasn't got any better at all!

But remember, the waiting is half the fun. Anticipation of your jacket is a cool thing, and quite unique aside from being a kid at Christmas I think.

So:-

ENJOY the wait! It makes the getting part all the sweeter.........

And finally, when you open up that packaging and smell that "au de Wested"............... =P~

Wait - who am I kidding? IT'S TORTURE I TELL YA, PURE TORTURE!

Regards,

Alan

Hm, If I lived in europe I would go pick it up, but I'm not gonna spend 500+ on a plane ticket...:P

It really is like christmas...lol

And yes, I have a feeling the day it arrives will be a very memorable day.

You could write an article and we could post it over at The Indy Experience.

yeah. cool idea Schwammy.

man, I hate that Wested Wait. Heck, way I figure it, I wasted away at least half my life waiting on my Wested last fall. Decided that next jacket I order must be domestic. Hehe. Wish Wested would open a USA branch. But then it would void that lovely "Made In Brittan(or England or whatever)" tag. Don't get me wrong, US make stuff is great. I love to see stuff made in the US, not China. But the tag just looks great in the wested... Sorry, I'm just rambling on here. Good luck counting the fibers in the rug. Hope your Wested gets to you soon. I know you'll love it...

I'm awaiting mine too, September 29th was when they got the money at long last, but the order was placed on the 25th. I don't think they would have started it without the money, so I'm looking at at 24th delivery I guess, thereabouts. Actually, come to think of it, it'll probobly be closer the the 28th/29th before I get it. Oo thats close, cuz I need it for haloween! Oh well gotta have faith...

I don't need it for halloween, but would love it by then, because that is my b-day :)

edit: and instead of posting a second post, render, I do write articles for many websites, including macteens.com, apple-x.net, and philosophyme.

What do you want me to write it on? My first wested anticipation? ;)

Write something Jones fans would want to read. Something that ties into the "Lifestyle" of being a Gearhead.

While whistfully waiting for a Wested, you have an excuse (in your brain) to get home that much earlier from work (or to even take a day off of work).

Being in Australia, I'm used to long waits from the US
(I'm a martial artist and ordering online is really the only way to get alot of cool stuff...)

However, the 'Wested Wait' is far harder than any other wait I've had.
Perhaps because its being custom made, all those decisions play over and over in your head and you spend so much time wondering whether it will measure up.

I ordered my Pecards leather dressing (from David Morgan) and that got here super fast. Now I have my Pecards a month before I'll have my jacket. :? :)

Hey did y'all hear that UPS and FedEx are merging soon. Their new name will be FED-UP. Hahahaah!
Seriously though, I have to ask, with Airborne Express, do you have to be present to sign? Reason I ask is if we order, are we better off having it delivered to our place of work or will they leave it on your doorstep if you aren't there or in my case, with my apartment complex's office.

I made my clover lighter while waiting for mine to arrive 2 years ago. Lighter still looks good. Even though this is a one night job, it's something to keep you occupied...

Are you really serious about this? I guess you have just
blocked out of your mind all the troubles we have with
PBB Global!

PBB Global will leave the package on your doorstep, whether
you are home or not. Ripe for anyone to come along and
take it.

We have had so much trouble with PBB lately with them
charging people twice for things, over charging for alterations
on their customs documents and such.

Thats why its prefered to have it shipped Express Mail thru
the post office. If you are not home in person to get your
package, the postman will leave a note on your door, or
in your mailbox, informing you that you must come down
to the post office and sign for your item.

Its at that time that you will pay the actual customs charges
and any fee (usually about 4 or 5 dollars) that the post office
charges on top of the customs charges.

This is a much better way than using Airborne and PBB.
I don't know why Peter won't use this method. It may cost
Peter a few dollars more, but you will NEVER have the problems
that PBB causes, and you will not have to go thru the trouble
of having a company send you bills 2 or 3 months after you
receive your package. If Peter would add this additional few
dollars onto his normal shipping fee, it would make everything
run so much smoother.

Oh, just for your own info, U.S. Customs charges approximately
6 percent of an items declared value as its fee. So, if a Wested
has a declared value of $230.00 or so, you get your customs
fee of $13.80 that we see on the PBB slip. However, the
post office only charges 4 or 5 dollars for its delivery, so you
actually pay LESS thru them than you do with PBB.

Just go back thru some old posts to see all the PBB stuff
for yourself.

I just got my Wested yesterday and PBB Global didn't do the delivering. It was delivered by an Airborne Express truck. The jacket wasn't just left on the doorstep either, my brother had to sign for it (I hadn't gotten home from work yet).

Thats a first. I have delt with Peter 3 times so far, and each time,
Airborne, which I refered to as who PBB uses, left the package
there, on my porch, with no paperwork, no nothing, without
getting a single signature.

Thats the way most people have had happen to them if you go
back thru the posts. You are one of the lucky ones my friend!!

I hope that this is the way they are doing their business now, but
I really doubt it. I know that if a person is indeed home at the time
of delivery, the driver will ring the bell, or knock on the door, and
if nobody answers, he will just leave the package, and scan it
on his handheld as delivered.

If, in your case, someone actually answers the door, then the
person answering the door is the one who signs it as delivered.

You got lucky my friend!! Be happy! You can now have the happy
time of waiting for the PBB bill to arrive, which it will, for your
21 dollars.

You can also look back thru the posts and see how much hassle
Michaelson went thru when he had his new Cotton Wested
delivered to his place of work. PBB and Airborne really screwed that
one up bigtime!! Just ask him and he will tell you how they couldn't
find his proper address, and they lost the jacket and no one knew
what to do, or where to look for it at his office. It was not a nice
thing.

I've read all about the PBB bills and Michaelson's cotton Wested screw-up.
I guess since my brother signed for the jacket I'm not going to be able to get out of paying the PBB bill when/if it comes.

Luke:

Sorry, but there is no getting out of the PBB hole. It may take
up to 2 or 3 months to get the bill. By then, you forget about it,
and when it comes, your like, huh? What is this? Oh, yeah, that
stupid bill.

But do keep ALL the papers you got from the purchase, as well
as any papers Airborne left for you. PBB tried to bag me twice on
the same jacket purchase. I told them that I already paid the first
bill, and that I was not paying again for the jacket after I had to
send it back to Peter for an exchange since I already paid the
customs fees for a jacket.

Now, I get a call every now and then from PBB, and I just re-tell
the person on the phone about this, and they leave me alone
for a few months. Then I get a phone call out of the blue again,
and I have to start the whole thing all over again.

Just keep that paperwork!!

This is a great idea except that I was stupid enough to give Peter my work address! Oh well, too much work to be playing hookey anyway.

My obsession with getting my Wested is so bad that last night I actually dreamed I received it. In my dream-world the jacket and fit was absolutely perfect, which made waking up all the more difficult.

THat is pretty bad. But I'm sure it's happened or will happen to the best of us at some point while waiting for a piece of gear or a prop, although I can't remember it happening to me YET.
