Pictures, pictures, pictures!
I need something to tide me over until mine arrives. (I told my wife she could have my last lamb Wested when my new one arrived. She tried it on and I didn't get it back! I can't blame her though... )

Schwammy, that's a great idea naming your kid Wested Lamb. But I wouldn't recommend advertising that middle name of Lamb. The kids at school might make some baaaaaad jokes out of it. Bwaaaaaa!

This is for you, Rick. I feel your pain.
Buletman, anyone who stops by the house will receive either a cigar or a hearty handshake of equal or lesser value.

Congrats all around.
Why Lamb and not goat?

The drape, baby! Yeah!
I've already got an older goatskin Gibson & Barnes Expedition and it's too stiff for my taste. I know, the new Wested goat is supposed to drape as nicely as lamb, but I've never had a lambskin jacket before.
Edit: I just noticed how much longer my right arm is than my left arm. I'm told that this is true of many right-handed people. Apparently the arm you favor has more muscle, and thus is heavier.

Congratulations Schwammy! You must be very proud!
I hate to ask this, but you didn't tell us if it was a boy or a girl...

Schwam;
Keep an eye on that jacket! It looks completely awesome and form-fitting. Just the way it supposed to. It really looks great on you.
WARNING!
My first on fit like that as well, but I lost a bit of length as time went by. The jacket was originally 22" long from bottom of collar stand. Before I gave it to my wife, it measured in at 20 1/2" I have an uncanny knack for shrinking things, I guess. I have never heard about anyone else having issues like that... All of the "character" that I painstakingly gave the jacket (wrinkles, rain baths etc.) may have caused it. Let me know how things go in a month or so. You may find your jacket rising above your beltline, if you are not careful. Does your wife need a jacket?
Hopefully, my jacket was an anomally... Good Luck!
Also, I can't remember which distressing camp you are from...

Wait until you see how well that will drape after it's been worn for a while. Mine fits like a second skin after several months of wear (my first skin is pretty loose and flabby, so that's not saying much, I suppose
). As a suggestion regarding the goatskin in your closet....give it a GOOD coating of the Pecards leather jell. It will loosen up the jacket tremendously! I did that when I got first my chrome tanned FS, and it drapes beautifully, without having to wear the thing down for a year or more. Just a suggestion, but one I HIGHLY recommend. Regards, and once again, GREAT jacket you have there! Michaelson

I'm not sure how to tell...

Thanks, Rick. my philosophy on an Indy jacket shrinking up to the belt line is that then your holster fits better under the jacket.
As for distressing, I learned my lesson on my last jacket. I tried distressing it with sandpaper and acetone, and wasn't real happy with the results. This little lamb will be untouched by foul-smelling chemicals and implements of abrasion. When it comes to jackets, I'm a Michaelson man now.
The thing is, this lamb drapes so beautifully, and the color is so perfect, it doesn't need distressing. I can sort of see now that when I tried to distress my last jacket, it was because it didn't look like this.

The truth hurts! (grins) Oh, to check whether it's a boy or girl, you have to lift up the bottom of the jacket and check, uh, the tag.

It is good to see that there are those who learn from their mistakes. I certainly can respect your decision.
I, on the other hand, came home last night to find my new Wested on the landing. I have already wiped it down with alcohol to dull the shine and will be taking acetone to is ASAP. What good is life and gear if you cannot enjoy it and have fun, right? The key is to be subtle. No distressing that looks like striping was put around the seams for me.
One thing; moderation and subtlety. Two things! Moderation and subtlety ...and control. Three things. Moderation, subtlety, control and a light touch. What is this? The Spanish Inquisition? NOBODY EXPECT ... Sorry... long day.

It's amazing how these jackets look when you wear them everyday. The do wear and distress, correctly.

For Michaelson--Pecards jell, you say? Would that be a good thing for my 15+ year old Avirex Cow A-2 (never treated with 'nuthin except some brown Kiwi on some discolored spots) as well as my new Wested goat?

Yeah, for a while I thought I was looking at Chris King's mannequin.
) That is, supposed to be a compliment.
) Looking good Schwammy-man. I'd say, send the picture to the IJ4 stunt department. You need to join the union though.

Agreed, I do look like a rather stiff mannequin! That's just me trying to have good posture and not slouch I guess. I never know when one of my piano students might be watching.
buletman, I sent the photos your way. Thanks for your kind offer.

Schwammy, is your hat a Herbert Johnson? If not, I can't tell the difference (esp. in that first picture). Awesome jacket, by the way!

Thanks, Dale, but it's just like everybody else's Wested, isn't it?
The hat is a PBBM, which I modified slightly (okay, more than slightly). Still, I'm sure Joe jr. will be pleased to know that his hat is so HJ-like.
Sincere thanks to you, Buletman, for hosting my pictures. You are a prince among men. And bulets.

It is not a problem...I wanted to see those pics very dearly...I should be getting my wested within 3 weeks. I hope so anyway...ordered on Sep. 30th, got the e-mail saying it will begin production Oct. 1st...So hopefully within 3 weeks...although I'm trying to butter peter up a little to maybe to get it to me a little sooner...I can't believe I got the jacket for under 300 us dollars. And I asked for a few extras too...look at my post for more information...
Anyway, back on subject, again, you are very welcome shwammy...I'm just glad the site didn't overload so I would have to make it on another account...not that it would be to hard...but anyway...
