I found these boots in a shop, and thought they looked quite a lot like the Aldens. There are obvious differences, but they are quite a bit cheaper. They also look quite attractive on their own, in my opinion.

Those are nice! they look like they would wear well. Maybe i'll get those after my rockports falll apart, i am on my third pair of soles and two of those real lugged vibram soles. I deliver mail at the unviversity so i walk alot...

Very Nice. They're like a 50/50 cross between the Alden indy and those new wolverine 1,000 mile boots.

I admit I like the look of them - I will just say that while they look great they are made by Aldo. I haven't bought a pair of Aldo shoes in a long time - since when I used to serve tables (looong time) - I used to buy all my shoes there - and while the look was fine for work, they never lasted. I'm not saying it's the same now - just that when you're used to high quality boots like the Alden or others, this may MAY not be as durable or as comfortable.

I want to get a closer look at these though - it's a great deal for that look.

I can't imagine them being less quality than the Rockports though, but in comparison with Aldens or redwings or some other heavy duty, high quality boot they would clearly not be in that group.

The three stores I visited in my hometown had them.
I eventually ended up getting a completely different pair, as I'm not old enough to wear footwear with toe box stitching

They actually look a lot nicer in the real world.
They'll also double as my footwear for when I'm wearing the indy kit. they are not at all similar, but are period looking and give me the same associations.

How do you think guys, which pair of boots would be more solid and better quality- Aldo's Jeremyah or Todd's Outdoorsman?

I'm not really sure. Jeremyahs might be better, only judging by the price. But I think Todd's boots are good. I have a pair and I really like them.

I just noticed the Jeremyahs are on sale for $150.

Punched up a couple of reviews of Aldos brand shoes and the majority were pretty negative so tread with caution.....

Gosh, those Jeremyah's are great close-enough boots. Only available in two sizes now, though. Maybe they'll make some more.

I actually went to Aldo yesterday and found a black pair that is a closer knock-off of an Alden minus the speed laces. Unfortunately they don't have the model on the website yet. My problem with a black version of the Alden is that it tends to look very orthopedic.

They had these at the outlet mall in New Braunfels in Texas. The heel is actually alittle higher than my Aldens but they are comfy, cool, and very close enough....especially for the price. Twice, my wife thought they were my Aldens. If your on a budget, scoop these up. Very cool boots. Instead of hooks, they do have small rings, which,after wearing them, I actually enjoy much more but that is under your pants so extreme SA gearheads need not apply, ha ha....

There are these as well...

I found them under shoes. These are almost a dead ringer for the Aldens. These Aldo shoes/boots looked almost IDENTICAL when I compared them to my Aldens. Slightly shorter at the ankle, but almost the same.

Here they are in black, but they have them in dark brown. The dark brown is really nice.

Here they are in black, but they have them in dark brown. The dark brown is really nice.

These are the boots I was talking about. I just found them in brown on the website. How can you beat $70? The black version looks like something Herman Munster would wear.

I ordered some of these from a Aldo store because at the time they weren't on the U.S. portion of the website, and I'm in Illinois. Customer service told me I had to have a Canadian address!

The first pairs were very small. I ordered my size (12), and the boots sent were sized 45 (EU?). I returned them and got the 46's, and they didn't seem to be any larger. Any other similar experiences? Their other shoes seem to fit fine. Maybe these are mismarked?

I found the sizing to be true to size as far as the 42's went, but Aldo sizing never seems to be consistent.

Thanks for finding that Forest..... I read many of them and most seem geared to the customer service more than the quality of the shoe. There are a few negative quality reviews but in the end, we always get what we pay for. If there is anything I have learned on this website, it is that.
My boots are holding up well, but I don`t want to opinionate since I cycle thru all my shoes constantly and don`t wear them everyday so all I can add is that I do like them, they have been comfy when I`ve worn them a couple of days in a row(just to test the comfort) and so far there is nothing more than regular wear and tear on them..no more than any of my other boots.

I'm thinking about picking up a pair of those Rodriguez boots. They have enough stylistic cues to fit the bill for Indy boots, but still have a very nice look to themselves.

So... can anyone tell me they bought & like the Aldo Rodriguez? I would like to know more prior to pulling the trigger. Where are they made, Italy? My other aldos are. Are they heavy or light. Got to see some Rodiguez boots last Saturday and they looked sturdy enough so I ordered some in store. My size wasn't in stock, and returns to a store seem easier than through post. They were marked as being made in Romania. I ordered black as they were out of brown, online. Sure wish they'd offer the Jeremyah again.

Romania, eh? The former Eastern bloc seems to be a hotbed of the shoe biz. Those Hippopotamus brand I got recently were from Albania. The Jeremyah kick-@zz. They are marked as made in Italy.

I picked these up today to tide me over until I get to order my Vintage Indys from Leathersoul for my anniversary this November. I just lathered them up with Obenaufs. I wear an 8-1/2 EEE and had to get these in 9s because the 8-1/2s were a little too narrow, especially with heavier socks. I took pictures with and without flash.

Got some Rodiguez boots in black (they didn't have brown in size 13). I wear 12 in everything and had to go up all the way in these. They fit pretty well and have good traction. Worth the $75 I guess. Let's all keep an eye out for return of the Jeremyah's before they come and go!

Yeah these boots take on character quite easily without even wearing them yet. The brown color lightens fairly easily were the leather is folded. I also paid $75 out the door. They only had 8-1/2 and 9 in brown which were exactly the sizes I asked the clerk to bring out. I'll be wearing these tomorrow so I'll let you know how they feel.

The toe, heel stitching and lace eyelets are all wrong on the Rodiguez, but the Jeremyah toe stitching, heel and eyelets are spot on for the Alden's. The jeremyah's have a slightly higher heel, and are taller in the ankle support.

I can see what you're saying. To be honest I could hardly see the toe stitching in that small picture and thought it was smooth toed when I first looked. The boot however does look much taller to me.

The tongue on my right boot creeps down into the boot towards my inner ankle. This happens every time I wear them, even with the boots tied snug. Always the right boot. Not sure why it's happening but a bit annoying and odd.

I purchased a pair of these Rodriguez boots about 2 months ago and I've worn them about 10 times. My first impression was that they looked pretty good and the leather was nice and supple. They fit a bit on the larger side, but wearing thicker socks remedied that.

From the second time I wore them through now, there has been a very loud and consistent squeak coming from the right boot. It started off as barely noticeable, but now it has developed into a downright annoyance. The squeaking sound occurs when I apply pressure to my right foot and appears to be coming from inside the sole. Doing some internet research I found the source of the squeaking may be from the shank, and if this is the case there is really nothing that can be done to fix it

I'm disappointed these boots didn't work out...

Has anyone else had a similar issue with these or any other boots?

Postal strike over, and my rodriguez's arrived today. Hmmm... Not a fan; the heel is too chunky and high, the boot seems to put me off-balance and I feel like I'm going to fall forward. Overall not a terrifically comfortable boot and they're headed right back to Aldo. Glad I've got my very first pair of 403s on delivery for wednesday

I'm going to join this experiment. Tonight I just ordered a pair of the Rodiguez and a pair of the Diangelo boots. They were on sale and in my size (I hope).

I had a pair of daily-wear Sketchers rough-out ankle boots (about 4-6 months old) that the soles literally tore apart on the flex points. Right now my daily-wear boots are my re-heeled Todd's.

I have absolutely no complaints wearing my Todd's. None. I just need/want a different pair of boots now and then; one pair for work, another pair for not work, etc.

Once I get these new kicks (I went for the free shipping, 3-6 business days) I'll chime back in.

These do look the Indy-ish part, but I'm really hoping they're just decent daily-wear boots.
