turned my Christy's ToD-ish

Post by theman »

So as some of you know I had Yohimbo's awesome ROLA now and was looking to mod my Christy's a little to get something more like an LC look out of it... Well thanks to trying some suggestions from members I went with steaming the top of the crown while boiling spaghetti for dinner a couple times, and I think it turned out alright...at least for a ToD look however moreso than LC possibly. :TOH:

As a reference, this is what I was going for... Image
and this is what I got...

Looks really good. It's always good to see a ToD hat on here once and a while. Your hat and that awesome jacket really pulls off the Temple of Doom look. Well done :TOH:

thanks guys... I am glad my spaghetti steam technique worked out for the best. I am very novice at working over the hats, so I am glad for any level of success. :TOH:

That looks really good! It´s great to see a ToD hat that the owner wanted to be a ToD hat and not just a tapered Raiders fedora that got a new name.

A lot nicer than the "Water Treatment" my Christy's received back in June. Having a lot of my "Archives" stored in our basement/Rec Room, our area received 7" of rain in Two Hours! The Storm Sewers could not handle the amount of rain, (etc.!), and backed-up through our Floor Drain. Needless to say the hat didn't survive, as well as a number of jackets, etc. I just recently moved, and have been attempting to replace some of the collection (I already started this attempt on a bad note). Recently, FEMA declared no support to be given, as basements to them are not considered areas that are consistently used...! Man, can't wait to read the Nasty Response to this one from FEMA Indy Fans... =; The Todd Bag did survive however, it was hung-up, high enough on a wall!

very nice TOD hat TheMan,

Personaly, I am not a big fan of TOD, LC or CS hats, prefering the Raiders instead.
However, it's good to see some nice TOD for a change. It's also a unique style I guess.

Same with the ovie, despite Raiders being my favourite, I also like TOD.
