Weeell the way I bend my buckles... I do it one of 2 ways.
You need to take it off the strap first, naturally
1) Hold between two sets of pliers and bend.
2) Slip the buckle between a crack between some paving stones and gently bend by pushing with my foot.
They are not 'that' hard to bend.
3) You can put it in a vice if you have one!

I use an anvil and a rubber mallet. I place the buckle top side down on the edge of my work bench, put the small anvil (I'm sure a brick or something similar works, too) on the buckle and hold it so that the buckle is sticking off the work bench to the desired bent point. then I just tap the buckle with the mallet until it is bent to the desired angle.
I do this for customers only when asked as I don't want to get into a 'which bend is better' back and forth with it with advertising. There are subtle differences in the bends from TOD to CS and I just used my best judgment. I don't have an opinion on the exactness of the bend to the films.

The ToD buckle bends slightly away from the wearer, while the LC/CS bends toward the wearer.

I have a Wade LC strap and LOVE it. I find that I enjoy it more by breaking it in myself....though I have no even attempted to bend my buckle. Haven't really thought about it really.....
