shrinking pervention?
I saw on a akubra youtube video there is some kind of oil you can rub on the inside of your leather brim to help keep it from shrinking, does anyone know what this product is?

Leather brim?
Re: shrinking pervention?
I fight shrinkage by wearing the hat and sweating in it. Thing expands when I do that.

I think you are referring to the sweatband. I have never treated mine with anything, but I do own a hat stretcher (also called a hat retainer) that I put in my hat if it gets soaked, or if I sweat heavily in it. That will do the trick. Some people put them at all times, unless they are wearing it.

One thing that I have done in the past was to wet the leather sweatband on both sides, then use the hat retainer to stretch it a bit. Leave it overnight, until dry, and you will have a hat that is a better fit. If the band is already moist due to perspiration, etc., the hat retainer will prevent shrinkage. The hat retainer should be on until the leather band is dry.
