Can Peter at wested make a jacket relatively any size? i have a buddy who saw them on indyjacket.com, and really liked them and now he wants one. but hes a BIG guy, about 6'1'' maybe...280-300?

I'm about 5 hours away from ordering my first wested, and I am 6'6" and 270 lbs. I took a BUNCH of measurements, and details in how I got the measurements, and I will be sending it to Peter.

Congrats on your choice of jacket - the Wested is a fine quality handmade item which I believe you will enjoy owning and wearing, I certainly do!
Having recently ordered a 2nd wested myself (goatskin for extra durability and warmth), I suggest including your collar size and if you desire, allowing an extra inch to the arm length (for ride-up when the leather starts to bunch a little).
If you prefer a slightly longer jacket length (the raiders jacket is a little below the belt-line normally) ask Peter to add an extra inch or so to the front - this also prevents ride-up when the jacket is closed.
For my latest jacket I also requested under-arm gussets - I have heard good things about freedom of movement with the gussets and they don't cost any extra (are authentic to ROTLA too, I believe!). Can't tell ya how they work as I have not got my new jacket yet!
But Peter & Wested are great at listening to any concerns or requests, and production on a new order usually doesn't start for a little while- so you have time to update your order over the next couple of days, if you think of anything you would like to change/confirm etc.
