The Art of Brim Curling

Okay I've just about had it with my Reg Fed's brim...I have been trying to get a nice curl on the sides and back but it just doesn't come out right. Any tips/tricks/advice? How much should it curl? Should it start closer to the crown or brim edge? Right now I've just got it flattened all the way round and dipped in front, but I'd like to get that keen swoop going.

TIA!

Hello,

Not sure that this is what you are looking for, but when I was bashing my new Fed, this post by a fellow member, really made it easier for me. Hope that it helps you.

The whole key for me on the brim curl is to iron most of the curl out, but not all. I leave a slight curl close to the edge of the back and sides. I don't like as much curl as the hat comes with. If you ever iron out the brim flat, it is difficult to get a nice curl again without some sort of flange. regards, Fedora

Thanks for the suggestions guys, but I think I've got it...might sound funny but I think I was really trying too hard to get it to look right. With a little steam I was able to get some of the original curl back, it's subtle but looks way better.

Please, does this HAVE to spill over into every thread I read tonight? It's quite distracting.
